I'm pretty sure it's due to the plastic body. Has anyone tried a set of static discharge straps that drag on the ground with any luck?
Can I have an AMEN brother. Not only do I notice that on my car but I noticed that when we do an all-over paint job in the paint booth, I can count on a hand or two how many pieces of trash we get on the entire car....
However, when we spray fiberglass parts, we can't stop the trash... it gets loaded... It's the damn static.

Makes me wish the panels were aluminum or titanium .
I used two coats of Zaino, and it did nothing for static, but the luster was intense.
Back to the question of the rubber straps that they used to sell so many of to reduce static shock.. I wonder if they would serve any purpose on the Vette?
It does get more due to the electrosatic charge moving thru air. The California duster helps. To be honest, I get almost as much dust on the Tahoe and the bug problem on that big 'ol Tahoe nose dwarfs anything I have ever seen on the Vette.....

Reason: Bad spelling
You haven't seen bugs unless yours is yellow. Bugs love yellow. After sitting in the sun for awhile, it's loaded with bugs. I just drive away and they're all gone. What's up with that? Any biologist drive a vette? Brian
This is not meant to be a Zaino slam, but when I used Zaino it collected dust like crazy. Then I tried and switched to Meguiar's NXT and the dust was greatly reduced.
You guys haven't seen dust unless you live in Virginia Beach.
For the month of April and part of May, we get this green dust I think it is pollen from the pine trees. To say it is annoying is a understatement.
Sunday I did an all out wash and wax and by the time I was done waxing I had to get out the California Duster to get the layer of green dust off the car just so I could cover it.
I used to think it was bad to drive around and have to clean the road dust and sand off the rear but this green stuff is for the birds....
Speaking of bugs- for some reason when mine is clean I get a lot of bugs landing on the hood and trunk and just "hanging out"
This is a common problem as described in the Websters Dictionary:Bugs: An insect or similar organism, such as a centipede or an earwig that finds a corvette positively Irresistible.
