Everyone here at work knows I take good care of my C5 - engine, interior, and exterior. Well, word got out recently that I am selling my minivan, a 1994 Quest. Much to my surprise, a group of potential buyers quickly formed, each one of them using the same reason - I take great care of my Corvette, so the same must be true of my care of the other vehicles in my household.
On the other side of the coin, a coworker who abused his vehicle started spreading the word that he was going to sell. Of course, the prevailing advice being spread much more quickly was that his car should be avoided at all costs.
The lesson to this story? Take good care of your daily driver and it will take care of you in more ways than one.
I used to have people line up to buy my company cars (I took care of them like they were mine), in a previous job, when the lease was up. I knew I was meant to be a Vette owner then
Thanks, Roscoe and JD. There are so many people out there who neglect their vehicles. One guy here at work hasn't changed his oil in 30,000 miles! (Honda Civic). He just adds when necessary!
