Yea, they often signal one way and turn the other....

I'm sure they'll fix it good as new!

Sorry to hear of the accident Jim... but enjoy your new Tiger Shark front facia. It will ship out tomorrow, so I think you will have in time before your next Corvette meeting.
Thanks again for the repeat business and try and avoid the idiots on the road!

My insurance company's adjuster estimated the cost of repairs at $2,607.64.

I have a $200 deductible which will eventually be reimbursed since the other guy was at fault.

ZILLA is making be buy a Tiger Shark Front Fascia like the one shown below.

I just talked to Nate at the Corvette Garage and he has arranged for one to be shipped to my body shop of choice.

If all goes well, all the parts will be on hand and they will start work Monday. I should have the car back on Thursday.

We are going on a road trip with the Queen City Corvette Club on Friday to St Augustine, FL. I sure hope the Vette is ready. If not, there will be green Subaru wagon bring up the rear of the 30 car caravan.

Clearly, opportunity has emerged from adversity.

I would make sure they authorize repainting the hood and right fender as well to ensure they blend. USAA authorized that on mine when a lady ran over my front end in November. Mag Red might have necessitated the blending since I understand it is harder to match panels. Replaced facia, steel underneath it, and passenger side headlight assembly. Both fenders and the hood were not damaged but were painted to blend. Total was $2,800. Still waiting for my $500 deductible back when USAA gets settlement with the other carrier.

When I told my wife that your were making me get it she said

"OK, if Zilla told you to get it then you really must need it!"

She wants to know how much horspower it adds.

Sorry to hear the news.
I have USAA and when I was hit, the other guy's (at fault) insurance covered the whole repair. I didn't pay anything. I know you said you're getting your deductible back, but see if his insurance won't pay for it all.

I was sitting in traffic on the highway today when I was rear ended.

He saw how mad I was in my 2003 AE car and my first words were "do you now how long I have owned this car, since Feb." I think he thought I was going to kill him. He said he only took his eyes off the road for a second.

It looks mostly paint work, but that was what it looked on my Passat last year and that was almost $2000.

UPDATE

The new Tiger Shark Front Fascia I bought from the Corvette Garage is due in Monday and the other parts are all due tomorrow (Friday) some have already arrived.

I called the other guy's insurance company and got a phone message that they would call me back within two business days. I am not in the insurance business but when I want to make a claim, I expect to be able to talk to a person "Right Now" not two days later.

So I called my assigned adjuster at USAA back and she is going to waive my $200 deductible and get a check off to me in the mail tomorrow.

I drop the Vette at the shop Monday morning and if all goes well, I will pick up a shiny new Vette with a Tiger Shark front and my famous black butt next Thursday.

Next Friday Carol and I are going on a road trip to St Augustine, FL with the Queen City Corvette Club. I sure hope the Vette is ready.

Photos to be posted in a week or so.
