Do you have a lift for your C5?
My wife and I just bought a new house. It has a 3 car garage with enough room for a lift. What brand? Two post of four Post? Where did you purchase it?
I am leaning towards a two post as it gives better access to the bottom of the car and suspension.
I am not interested in a Kwicklift.

I've owned the Eagle SS7000 4-post lift for 6 years without having any problems, I believe it's a very good quality lift. I mainly use it for parking our other vette on, cleaning's and mechanical work, here's their web site so you can compare www.eagleequip.com

I have four post Stinger with the wheel feature that allow you to move it around the shop or for that matter out of doors, great to do the inside of your wheels.

If I could clear out my garage I would love to have a two post. But the casters on the 4 post lift are good also. Especially if you haven't got the ceiling height. And the 2 post does take up precious space on the sides. I think if you can dedicate two spots for the 2 post you would have a great set up. But trying to cram it into a single space things would be to tight. My .02 Good luck and keep us posted on your decision.

too many cars.
Wow, am I glad to see this post! I asked for help a couple of weeks ago about this and did'nt get much response. I have a C4 +C5 and a three car with 100 inches of height. Can someone tell me if I can put in a four post lift? Thanks for any and all input on this.

four post works great unless you want to remove wheels. in that case the two post is more practical. a four post is better if your going to putting your vette on and off a lot because have better access to the doors.

10' 8" (128")
I'm not sure if 8' 4" (100") would be enough clearance. You could measure the height of both vettes, then add 4" for the lift ramps...whatever is left over would be for garage door/ceiling clearance and bottom vette clearance. If you'd like - I can lower the lift within a couple inches of the bottom vette - then give you a measurement...or, lowerer the top one to 100" and take a pic...LMK

...I just went out a measured the overhead clearance on both vettes. The 64 on the bottom has 13" of clearance to the bottom of the lift ramps. The 2000 on the top has 14" of clearance to the ceiling....128" - 27" = 101"...I don't think you have the needed clearance....sorry.

Thanks Batman
Thanks for the input. I'm disappointed but am ordering a garage ceiling stretcher from Ecklers unless Midamerica has them cheaper! Thanks for going the extra mile for a a friend on the forum! FLYZLOW

Batman,
Thanks for the pictures. I don't drive the car everyday, but I do like to work on it at home. It rarely sees a dealership and I frequently need the wheels off to change tire packages from street to track and back.
How hi is you garage door? It looks taller than normal. What did they do to the tracks for the door and garage door opener? It looks like they are flush with the ceiling. My new house I would have to remove the garage door opener and keep the door closed to raise the car more than 4-5ft. Your solution looks very interesting.

I have a 4 post DoublePark best investment I made. I put the car up in the winter and store other things under it.
I purchased at BloomingtonGold, it was a display. Venders sell them at the shows and they will deliver for FREE within a 100 miles of the show. They do not like to transport from show to show.

My garage is 10' and I even had the garage door rails raise to the ceiling. I did that so when the car is all the way up I will not worry about the door hitting the car.
Just say my neighbor learned the hard way.

The garage door is 8' high.
For the garage door, track, and opener installation - I had them use the "high lift" tracks. I told them that I wanted the tracks and the opener as close to the ceiling as possible. I then adjusted the opener to open just enough to get the cars in...and, so that the opener arm attached to the door would not hit the back of the vert top while parked up top. I would of liked to do the same with the back door - but, the furnace would have to be moved. So, when they left - I had to modify the track angles a bit...it works good so far. Below are some pics....

Let's also remember guys, when we're discussing this subject, not everyone really cares about parking two cars in that space. Some of us just want the lift to work on the vette.
