It`s actually a "G-Meter," if anything stays in it... then you aren`t cornering hard enough!

I think its probably desingned like everything else in America is designed nowadays.. to avoid lawsuit... so when someone tries and sues them and say "that driver killed those 27 kids on the bus because he was driving a vette with only one hand, the other was sipping on some coffee... he had no place to put it!!" GM can say...

"ya see that thing right there...."

why the hell did they design the door of the cup holder to open towards the driver instead of away?

You have your answer.

The GM engineers aren't complete idiots. Give them some credit. They knew beverages would fall out of this holder. The door helps make sure they fall onto the passenger floor and not under the pedals.

Forward thinking at its best.

Default Home Depot EZ fix

I took a dremel tool and a sabre saw and enlarged the opening for my Circle K 44 oz. Bladder Buster. It works great! Cut my hand a few times on the jagged edges but fixed it with duct tape which matched my grey interior. Those GM guys pictured above called and want to buy the rights to the design. Whats a fair price?

probably the $1.39 to cover the cost of replacing the now shredded Circle K 44 oz cup!

While we're on a rant about the brilliant engineers at the Corporal, why the hell did they design the door of the cup holder to open towards the driver instead of away? And for all you guys that don't dare drink as much as a bottle of water in your sacred car I bet most of you smoke in the Fr. What's worse spilling a little water or smelling up the interior?
Hey! Watch the India cracks ...

So, does it get better reception? I haven't been able to hear anyone, when I put my ear down on the cup holder. Don't you just hate that?

Sorry, couldn't help myself.
