Does anyone have wheel weights for the CCW 505's,SP500 and/or SP16A. Checked the general sticky and did a search but couldn't find these weights. Also, the information was not on the CCW's web page.
Whats the difference dude?
17 lbs, 24 lbs 36 lbs...
Think you're going to feel a difference?
Who cares what they weigh...?
If you like the rims, buy em..

About 19 pounds from least to worst with above weights. The difference is, I would like to know before I buy, I will call. Will I feel the difference, who is to say I can't? As for who cares, I must. For me, more than look will go into the "if I like" decision.
Oh ya, I should mention that I will not feel the difference. I dont' know why that should matter to anybody but me though? Thanks Swany00 and ta70raiii for the idea and info, just didn't come to mind.
Going with the larger wheels/tires will add weight and yes I could feel the difference and it will afffect your times at the track. The misconception is that going to bigger stickier tires helps traction. That is only half true. You may get better grip but you are also putting less power to the ground due to the increased rotational mass. For the street buy what looks best, for the track go for lightweight.
marlowchris,
Thanks for the reply and the information is just what I was looking for. Your point on wheel weight sums exactly how I feel and I am looking for the best all-around fit for my needs. I had been pretty involved in motorcycles in the past and wheel weight would make a difference in handling, acceleration and braking, I can't see why cars would be any different just not to the same scale. A small diff. I'm ok with, few pounds, a large one, no way not for me. To each his/her own eh.

That is such bull.... 10 lbs is not going to affect a car that weighs 3500 lbs & has 350 HP... You may "think" you "feel & see a difference", but I doubt it..
First off rotational mass has a much bigger affect. And you may think it is bull, but my personal experience shows that not only does the car feel slower it runs slower at the track. Ask some of the hardcore racers and I bet they will back me up on this. To each his own. Thats my 2 cents.

Ohhhh I think there is a big difference in acceleration do to the un-srung weight difference.
CCW Classic Street 18x11 with Mich PS 335/30x18 = 51 lbs
The key term is "unsprung weight". Unspung weight (especially rotational unsprung weight) that mass which is not supported buy the suspension system such as wheels, tires A-arms, etc. is one of the holy grails in racing. Reducing unsprung weight disproportionately benefits acceleration, braking and handling compared to sprung weight.
Wow, just took a look at your car under profile, awesome wheels and track times too. Hey I bet those wheels are light too, so what's the deal, you don't want any knowing your little secret of rotational weight reduction? Look, just kiddin, and I can see your point, I would just like a nice looking light wheel, like yours, so what do ya say can I have em, I'll even pay shipping?
