I have seen some pictures of the C5 Yellow Vettes and some looked like they were painted different colors. The ones that don't look like MY look really yellow and bright. I don't know if it was the camera, lighting, image processing or what but I can see where the confusion is from.

Could be........good point.
Red is that way too. I have a friend who claybar'd his and zaino'd it straight from the factory and I'd swear it's waaaaay brighter red then any of the red vettes I've seen out there. I have a pic of his red one with my black one in "my corvette photos" under my sig.
one of the guys i work with , we were talking about the meseum and the plant. and he said they were running the yellow cars and notice that some were differant. he said some one ask about them and that they were going to some indy driver i cant remeber who got them, but ill do some checking and see and ill get back.
I have a Mil yellow and from what I have been told the color is a tint not a paint. So in theory all of the cars could be a different "color" as the more paint that is put on or the less paint the color will be different.
It is very hard to match if you have to paint it from what I am told.
Just a side note, Mil-Yellow, like Torch Red, has been discontinued for '05. Torch Red is now Victory Red, and I think the new yellow is Victory Yellow but my memory fails me. There have also been rumors that some late '04 cars were painted with the new yellow but can't verify that.

I'm afraid someone steered you wrong on both counts. First, Millennium Yellow is, of course, a paint. The difference is, and why it was an extra cost option, is that it has a tint coat. That is, instead of a normal clear coat, the clear coat is tinted yellow. It also may not be the easiest color to match, but I wouldn't say it's very hard either. The color on my aftermarket hood and spoiler match the rest of the car perfectly.
The differences people are seeing have everything to do with the lighting and nothing to do with different paint colors or shades. I have photos of my own car where the paint looks 50 shades different due to the lighting at the time they were taken.
