I followed the advise of another forum member and bought the rustolum from Home Depot (black caliper and sunset red letters), a good small brush and a little patience. I was extrememly happy how it turned out. I get compliments all the time. I did not want to take off the calipers and this way you don't have to. If you elect this way you can take your time and do one at a time. If you do it this way remember you only need a small can. Good luck.

Certainly your calipers can be painted with one of the DIY kits. I used a Folia Tec kit to do mine over three years ago and they still look great. I did mine with the calipers off the car, but many here have done them with them still on the car. Just takes a little time to mask things off and reach around to get all the spots painted. Be sure you clean the calipers very well before painting to ensure a good finished product.
Rustoleum cost around $3.50. The effect: priceless
Is this car on the jack still!!???
I'd say powdercoat them, but if you're doing it yourself...the painting is fine...just be sure to give a good cleaning prior to painting, and also add the clear coat, it's worth the extra step.
Thanks all again for all the responses . . . and awesome pics!!
few more questions . . .
On the Rustoleum - - do you have to buy a certain type that is heat resistant? Same question for the clear coat
For cleaning the calipers - - can you just use BrakeKleen or brake cleaner or does this deter the paint from going on well. Also, is there any pre-paint prep or primer needed?

I used Brakekleen and regular Rustoleum thats it, oh and a razor blade to clean the paint once half dried off the lettering. It's holding up fine
