Default Cd Changer Wiring Help

Hi, I am installing a 12 disc CD changer (OEM) in my 2000 vette. It came with a wiring harness but not the split plug setup for the two pigtails by the fuse box. I want to hard wire it to the two pigtails but I am not sure of the wire colors. The existing 3 prong plug in the kick panel has A=orange, B=green, and c=black/white stripe. The 4 prong plug has A=brn/white, B=grn/white, c=blk/white, and d=bare wire. My harness has a shielded cable with a red, white, black, and bare wire in it. The harness also has 4 unshielded wires purple, green, orange, and grey. I would greatly appreciate any help in matching these wires . Thanks, Mark

do you have the correct harness? Are you using these instructions? CD Changer Install "Additional Information" discusses harnesses.

I have the harness that fits the cd changer but needs to be spliced into the corvette plugs. I am looking for some help in matching the different wire colors in the harness and existing plugs in the car. Both the orange and green wire in the floorboard have 12volts on them with the ignition off. Not sure which wires they connect to on the harness.

Gotcha. You don't have a harness for the Corvette, you have a harness for the changer, which is GM... OK. I'm not going to be any help here. The only harnesses I know of or have used are made just for this application and have matching wire colors, etc. Have you posted over in the Audio section? Someone there would surely know the answer for you.

The correct harness is about $50 from the dealership. It is worth the money, just get it.

I don't have the wire colors, but the connections are:

*12v
*ground
*L audio
*R audio
*L audio ground
*R audio ground
*serial control data line
