I work for Coca-Cola and bought my '03 with the GM supplier discount. Got 6k off the top. That's the only reason I traded in my '01.
Just for clarification, The GMS discount is not the "Supplier" discount (though the useage of the letters G-M-S might make one believe it stands for General Motors Supplier - but it doesn't)
The GMS (General Motors employee) discount is about 2 % more than the Supplier discount.
For quick -n- dirty calculation of the Employee price - take the MSRP and mulitply it by .835 (point eight-three-five). That should get you within 2 to 3 hundred dollars of the employee discount price.
That should work for all GM except for Saturn and Saab.

I first heard it on a Chevy commercial late last week.
Actually its about 11% off MSRP, however after they came out with the deal they decreased there rebates. Grand Prix had a $3500 rebate yesterday today its $2000. For instance I'm looking at the new 303HP Grand Prix GXP. MSRP is $33,000, GMS price including rebates is $27,297. or 11% off MSRP - $2000 Rebate. FYI, the GMS Prices are on buypower. All you have to do is search for the car you want and click on "GET GM EMPLOYEE DISCOUNT PRICE". Of course Corvette is not available for discount.
Everyone gets it for one month only, at least per the announcement I saw. I am eligble for the GM employee discount normally. It can be used in combination with rebates, but not the GM credit card. There is a different card (GM Extended Family card) for which credit card savings can be used. A few other points:
1. Normally, the employee price can't be seen through GM Buypower unless you log in as an employee through the GMFamilyfirst.com webpage. This may have changed for this special sale (I haven't checked yet).
2. The price is set by GM. Dealer has no say in it. A good negotiator in a competitive market can often match or beat (slightly) the employee discount. Many people on this forum bought '04 Vettes last year with as good (or better) of a deal than I got on mine. The difference is, I didn't have to negotiate the price with the stealership.
3. Discounts vary by model. The numbers people are posting here appear to be on target to me (it's a little harder these days to state a percentage for discounts because of some changes in the program over the last few years).
4. The vehicles I have bought throught the program (three fullsize pickups and the Vette) have always retained more trade-in value than what I owed, even in the first year.
5. The announcement I saw excluded Vettes and I believe medium duty trucks. Normally, all vehicles qualify for the employee discount, however, participation in the program is at the dealer's discretion. Except for '04, it has always been difficult to find dealers willing to honor the program on Vettes.
In six months the discounts will be much better, like they always are at the end of the year.
I might be in the market for a 2006 Trailblazer SS with the LS2
I doubt it. GM has this little trick they play over the course of the year where they raise the MSRP of the vehicle several times. The larger rebates that you get at the end of the year just negate the price increases. It happens sometimes, but dealers have to be pretty desperate to sell below the GMS price.
Not necessarily true about Corvettes not getting discount.
What I found recently doing some research on this is, its up to the dealership.
I found a new '04 (w/6 miles on it) at an out of state dealership. I asked if they'd honor the GM employee discount plus all other rebates etc. They said, "Yes!" And quoted a price about 2k under their "Memorial Day Sale" price. ($57k MSRP for $43k w/all discounts).
Problem was, it didn't meet CA Low Emission Vehicle standards so it would be costly to modify and register in CA (I guess).
..rickko..
Say what??? All Corvettes since 2001 have been legal for California!
Very good deals right now on GM products. I was just quoted $300 / month for a fully loaded Trail Blazer (leather, sun roof, XM radio, etc) for a 2yr / 24,000 mile lease with zero down.
FWIW, I emailed two Ford dealerships as well as PM'd someone in our local car club that works for a Ford dealership. Not one of them responded to me with a price quote.. They obviously do not want my business.
Don't know what the employee discount is exactly percentage wise, but I was checking some of the MSRP's against the Employee Price sticker it was anywhere between 10% to almost 20% on a higher priced vehicle I was looking for a 4WD extended or crew cab pickup -Colorado; Silverado; or GMC.....prices looked pretty good 2 me But not nearly as good as the 04 Vette at 0% for 60 mos. a year and a half ago Way cool

I went to a dealer a few years ago to check the employee discount price on an S-10. I went in, got the numbers, told the dealer I needed to think about it, and he started LOWERING the price! I told him that the price is set, and he mentioned something about having some "credits" that he could use to lower the price. Needless to say, I called him a not so pleasant name and walked out. The employee price is set, but apparantly the dealers feel the need to screw with it. Is this current offer by GM for the supplier price, or the employee price? If everyone gets option 1 (or whatever it is now) then that's a sweet deal.

Where do you see that? The same TB I purchased was 43k in January and 43k in November. Never went up or down all year with the exact same options.
You build your own car/truck with options and print it out now for and '05 and in November the MSRP will be the same. I do this every time I buy a new car/truck every few years.
ALL GM Products except Corvette and ??? (one more car I just cant remember.)
BTW, The dealer is only allowed to charge you a 75.00 doc fee as well.
what I meant was - that the "multiply the MSRP by .835" part doesn't work on Saturns or Saab. I think Saturns employee discount is 9 percent and Saab is 10%... ?
I agree,GM is in big trouble!they still don't get it,though!PRICE THE FRIGGIN CARS RIGHT IN THE FIRST PLACE,PAY ATTENTION TO QUALITY/RELIABILITY,AND PUT A LONGER WARRANTY ON ALL CARS TO COMPETE W/ASIANS,NOT FORD!!!!!AND BINGO,THEY WILL SELL CARS AGAIN,WITHOUT HAVING TO DROP THEIR DRAWERS!!!
Anyone else reading into this? GM IS IN BIG TROUBLE IN THE U.S
Yes it seems that way.A shame,if they made some cars other than the vette that people liked maybe they wouldnt be in the shape they are in.I have a silverado ex cab pickup that a love its a 99.Thinking of getting a new one now, with this new pricing.Ive always tried to buy GM.But they arent making it easy.If i was in the market for a daily driver 4 door.it would be tough to stay GM my $02.
