uncle is buying new avalanche.. its for the month of june only... its 2k off msrp give or take
It's a LOT more than $2K - It's typically less than dealer invoice price. For example, on a $51K vehicle, the employee discount buys the car for $43K and change.
With GM putting their eggs in the one basket of the next wave of large SUV's (until about 2008/2009) while large SUV sales are rapidly losing steam, GM is in a no win until then....they have to offer some jim dandy prices to sell vehicles that average in the teens/gallon......
I know the N.U.M.M.I. plant in Fremont, CA, their employees a killer deal on cars, parts, etc. A guy i worked with has an uncle that bought a LS1 crate motor for his 67 Chevelle, that is a GM employee. He got it crazy cheap, like $3,500 or something like that.
Thousands off the price of a new car for GM employees, $500 fixed for US military????? I guess $500 is better than nothing. I went to Haiti, Bosnia and Kosavo to save up enough money to buy my Vette in 2000. Nobody was offering military discounts until after 9/11 2001.
Not necessarily true about Corvettes not getting discount.
What I found recently doing some research on this is, its up to the dealership.
I found a new '04 (w/6 miles on it) at an out of state dealership. I asked if they'd honor the GM employee discount plus all other rebates etc. They said, "Yes!" And quoted a price about 2k under their "Memorial Day Sale" price. ($57k MSRP for $43k w/all discounts).
Problem was, it didn't meet CA Low Emission Vehicle standards so it would be costly to modify and register in CA (I guess).
Everyone will get the GM Employee discount.
For you GM employees of there.
How much of a discount is there???
When was the announcement made? Everyone gets it? That's sweet! My best answer is that you get approx. 18% off of the MSRP, plus any incentives that are offered. Wait a few months and you will see some serious incentives.
