I could get frostbite if I left mine of 65 for any given time? Then again I prefer top off or atleast window down conditioning myself. Time for a shot of freon maybe????
When I round-tripped to fargo a couple of days ago, I had it set at 80 with 92/93 external readings and I was comfortable. Had i at 78 for awhile, but that was a bit chilly.
Mine works great too. You may need to have your system serviced.
Also, I found that the headers, heat insulation and tunnel plate have reduced cabin temps quite a bit so the A/C doesn't have to work as hard to maintain temp.

Working fine. After 106K miles and no maintenance issues at all, I checked the center outlet temperature the other day while motoring down the freeway on a typical 95 degree day here. I purposely ran it on Max for an extended period to see what the lowest temp would be:

Who me? Probably close to that same number. Also, remember this is moving on the highway with good air flow over the condensor. Stop and go traffic it would probably climb a little. Mid 40's to low 50's would be my guess.
BTW, the only thing I have ever done to the A/C system was a couple of years ago I added a can of "ICE -32" to the system. At least I think that was the name if I remember correctly. It is a type of product that has come on the scene over the last few years and is sold/marketed by a number of different companies. It is designed specifically to reduce friction in the compressor assembly and in so doing enables it to operate more efficiently. A more efficient compressor is able to cool better. As long as your system is in otherwise good condition it will usually lower the outlet air temps inside the car by anywhere from 5 to 10 degrees. This is not a "stop leak" product and is not designed to correct other problems that may exist. Oh yeah, it has another good affect. The compressor lasts much longer too.

Thinking mine needs a recharge... it comes out cold.. but not COLD, it was 94 here today and took miles to cool down inside the car.. my 98 dodge truck though... icecicles inside...
No problems with my 99 in 99 degree temps with glass top down in the dogs days of a Texas summer. Does take it a few minutes, but once moving at freeway speed, set it at 70 and the ride is very
