Default my vert got hurt.....

last nite, my work had a quarterly meeting followed by drinking w/ dinner....i was pretty drunk, and decided to park my vert in the parking lot, and called a cab....this morning, as soon as i got to work, one of the guards called me, and said someone or 2 tried to break-in to my vert....i looked at her, and the top was cut-through on several places & window was badly scratched....luckly, no body damages....insurance claim was made, but no police report....

i am sad that she is hurt...

That sucks man. My biggest fear is other people. Keep us informed on the repairs.

If I were you, I'd make out the police report, otherwise in the eyes of the insurance company, it never happened.
Just a suggestion.

That sux. At least you had the sense to call a cab. I'd rather see a Vette "hurt" than the driver or someone else being injured/killed.

Instead of a cab, call a flatbed and have the tow truck take you and your car home. If you have AAA, it may even be cheaper than a cab.

Same **** happened on my C4 . And the bad part was is that there was a back order on white tops. A few things to know; Make sure that the replacement is a GM top and be sure to check out the place that will put the top on. I took mine to the dealer and they sub it to a top shop down the road. You have to wait like a week until you put the top down. First time I put it down (a week and half later) the rear glass busted. I was madder than hell. But they fixed it so just make sure you know whom you are dealing with.

thanks for your advice....insurance company recommended a couple of shops in my area, and i personally checked their reputations, which all came out good....i try my best to avoid dealers unless it is a mechanical repair....

also, thanks for the comment on calling cabs everyone....

happy motoring....

good plan except that most tow trucks can't get into the parking garage.....I guess he could have driven it down to the ground level and then had it towed...

I'd get a police report too, just too cover your azz in case they try to raise your premium.

It's bad to see someone doing the right thing and suffering for it.

Best of luck with the repairs.
