last nite, my work had a quarterly meeting followed by drinking w/ dinner....i was pretty drunk, and decided to park my vert in the parking lot, and called a cab....this morning, as soon as i got to work, one of the guards called me, and said someone or 2 tried to break-in to my vert....i looked at her, and the top was cut-through on several places & window was badly scratched....luckly, no body damages....insurance claim was made, but no police report....
Same **** happened on my C4 . And the bad part was is that there was a back order on white tops. A few things to know; Make sure that the replacement is a GM top and be sure to check out the place that will put the top on. I took mine to the dealer and they sub it to a top shop down the road. You have to wait like a week until you put the top down. First time I put it down (a week and half later) the rear glass busted. I was madder than hell. But they fixed it so just make sure you know whom you are dealing with.

thanks for your advice....insurance company recommended a couple of shops in my area, and i personally checked their reputations, which all came out good....i try my best to avoid dealers unless it is a mechanical repair....
also, thanks for the comment on calling cabs everyone....
Instead of a cab, call a flatbed and have the tow truck take you and your car home. If you have AAA, it may even be cheaper than a cab.
good plan except that most tow trucks can't get into the parking garage.....I guess he could have driven it down to the ground level and then had it towed...
