Techron usually cures the gas guage problem if yours is acting up, there have been MANY writeups on this. It's not for use ALL the time, just once in a while. Other than that, myself as well as many Forum members use Chevron or other better grades of gas that have the cleaners already added. Some folks that were having the gas guage problem who used some abc brand of gas switched to Chevron for a few tanks and it cleared up the problem.

That is the exact reason to use an additive such as techron. As stated above, it has helped many, many people with their fuel gauge problems.
Since the LS1 is prone to carbon buildup, I like to use a small dose of fuel system cleaner in every tankful. I use a product called Fuel Power, in a ratio of 1oz for every 4 or 5 gallons.

I read a thread in the tech tip section where they clean out the carbon by adding GM top Engine cleaner in the pcv value. Do you think this is necessary at 36K??

Same here, recommended by Terry Dyson who does my oil analysis every year. I also use Lube Control in my oil which controls oxidation.

Been using 3 1/2oz per tankfull of RedLine's SI 1 Fuel System Cleaner for several years now with absolutely no harmful effects whatsoever. I use a full bottle (15oz) at oil change time every 9000 miles. BTW, I now have 107K miles on my DD. HTH
