Did you tell him that if he removes his supercharger that he would be seeing your taillights from a distance? THat's just it. They can't really compare a stang to a Vette because it is comparing apples and oranges.
umm, i bought the vette soley for our enjoyment of having one of the greatest cars ever made in america. did i buy it to impress anyone else? not!----------although as we all know we get lots of "nice car!" comments.....bub
Dang! I bought a Vette, when I could of had two mustangs! Well he reached his goal buying the mustang and I, buying the Vette. They're both cool cars. To bad he's immature. We could toast a beer and admire both cars.
Well put. In my neighborhood there are quite a few SVTs, GTs and Machs. Some of the owners are buttheads but so are some of the Vette guys around here. I have to say that the Terminator SVTs are awesome looking and sounding and that I've given and gotten props from several of the local owners. I prefer my ZO6 to anything else and that's why I bought it and grin every time I drive it. Now if you want me to start ranting - let's talk about Honda boyz who rev on me every time I cruise.
Preach on my brother...Preach on. I agree, I would be really pissed at myself if I walked to a dealer and droped 40k on mustang...I've never been a fan of newer mustangs. before I bought my dream car (of course, a vette) I went to a ford dealer and test drove a cobra. It is a fast animal but I couldn't help the feeling of just taking the car straight into a wall...call me crazy but that car is not worth 4k.
No matter how much respect you show towards a FORD owner, they always seem to want to talk smack.
I have a good friend who is die hard FORD, but he drives a Silverado (although it was given to him). He has put that truck through so much crap, I tell him all the time that if it was a Ford it would have died on him along time ago!
Well one afternoon I took him for a ride in my vette, and he compliments me on the car and then I drop him off at his house. Well he gets out the passenger side and walks around to me on the driver side and looks at the car and says " Yeah, this is a cool car, but it is still a Chevy - You should have got a Cobra!"
I didn't say a word, I just made a smirk at him, and rolled up the window, slowly pulled out his driveway. And lets just say he has two long black reminders of GM power infront of his house now .
Tell him you'll run him on a road course, then a 1/4th mile. Take him on a road course and pass him when he's sliding along on his roof. He won't make it to the starting line at the 1/4..
I don't know much about mustangs but he had a "bullet" logo on the back..
That's a factory package from Ford. Only came a few colors and had the exclusive rights at the dark green which was just like the mustang in the movie. Other features were a crazy new intake that gave it a few extra HP, cobra front brakes and slightly lower stance with stiffer springs. Appearance-wise they don't have rear spoilers, and have rear-scoop deleted, and a blacked out grille, and retro dash numerals, and rolled exhaust tips, and of course they were the first to come with the bullet style wheels that became standard on newer GT's.
Overall a very cool package, but not a big leap above the performance of a standard GT.
i'd probably have an inferiority complex too if GM made corvettes with a v6 engine, manual windows, 15" wheels and still called it a corvette
This is my favorite Mustang put down of all time. Thanks
I do love the Cobra of a few years ago that had that bulging hood and smooth lines. The rest of the Mustang line is just too many fake plastic body components that do nothing. Even my Fiero had functional black vents and slots that were not poured full of plastic.
That fake hood scoop on the 2000+ Mustang models is just assanine.
A Corvette is about more than just hp and straight line performance. If that's all you want, then a C5 isn't for you. A fox Mustang would be your best bet.
Of course, you could always refuse to park your car anywhere near his must-mange and if he asks why, you can say you don't want your car to be on fire when you come back out.......
What in the world does your Corvette have in common with a lemans car, other then the shape is the same?
I'am sorry you must be a Mustang Fan, however just to get up to date on current events, Corvettes have won the 24 hrs of La Mans and last year the Corvettes Swept the American La Mans Series.
Designer Imagines A Corvette That Looks More Like a Corvette Than the Corvette
