PERIOD. We all could go out tomorrow and get a stang and have some good change in our pockets but why??? I'll leave them for the kiddos in high school.. Like the one I had many moons ago.
I think it's a shame that so many people have to bad mouth or make assumptions about mustang owners and their cars. They are both nice american made sports cars. They are very different. The cobra is a little more practical being a four seater and a little cheaper, and the vette is obviously a more world class sports car. I hardly think that makes Cobra's junk though. As far as mustang owners attitudes, first off it's hardly fair to make generalizations about all of them based on limited experiences. How many of you really think that every mustang owner is some idiot kid with an inferiority complex who could only pray to be fortunate enough to own a vette someday. And secondly, with the attitudes you see on here that many corvette owners have towards mustang owners, it's hard to blame them for being jerks back. I'm certainly not saying that it's right, but if we could just be more civil to each other and not so hostile and insulting, I'm sure that many of you would get along pretty well with each other.
Anyway, I apologize for the long post. It's just so upsetting to me because I love both cars, and have friends who drive both cars. They are both great cars with a long history and devoted fan bases. It just seems unfortunate that more from each group can't get along with the other.
In response to the original post, I'm sorry you had a bad experience with that mustang owner, and you do have a very nice car.
Have a good day everyone
i'd probably have an inferiority complex too if GM made corvettes with a v6 engine, manual windows, 15" wheels and still called it a corvette.
Quite possibly the funniest Ford reference ever made... My neighbor and I share the Ford/Chevy friendly feud and I can't wait to use that one on him...
It’s not about H.P. or speed. A Vette is a Vette and anything else is not a Vette! NO other car can give you the feeling that you have when you own a Vette!!!
mustang guys bother me. they love talking trash, but they rarely can hang with us. then when they lose (usually pretty bad) they have some lame old excuse like "my computer is backfiring". I've heard that one. or the most popular, I lost traction.
all I can say is my vette must run 11's, cause I raced a "12 second" mustang and beat the pants off of him. he "lost traction" of course so did I. funny huh? those guys get to me. not much respect for the highest maintenance car ever made, aka ford mustang.
Are you talking about a mustang Cobra SVT 5 speed?...If you are...I was nose to nose in 2nd gear at 3000rpms holdong steady with one last night and he gave me the finger and I smiled and he nailed it so I immediately nailed my 1995 LT1 ZF 6 speed and within 2-3 seconds was a car ahead of him when I shifted into 3rd and saw him desperately trying to catch me because he sounded like he was gonna blow and he almost made it to my door and I nudged ahead another 1/2 car length and then when I saw he was toast I let off and he just stayed back there like a whipped puppy and at the next light he wouldn't even look over at me...he must have really felt like a whipped puppy... ...and my LT1 is all stock and I think the Cobra SVT has 390 horses don't they? ...It was really hilarious because he had been pulling next to me revving several times before we raced and his exhaust system sounded pretty good....I never do the race thingy but he pizzed me off because he was forkin with me too much...
No matter what you drive, there is always somebody faster. I don't care how many mods you have or what your car runs, there is somebody out there that is faster, and if you get caught up in the "mine is faster than yours game" you have to grow up and so does the other person.
Gee, my Tahoe cost more than my Vette and is much slower....some times it is not all about cost and power. I still get excited whenever I look at a vette. A mustang, does nothing for me.

I can appreciate what both cars bring to the table. 'Nuf said.
