Do they make a catless system?

I tried to do just that; but couldn't find the Dynatech setup in their C5 section of the catalog @ Carlisle. I then asked one of their "shirted" operatives - and he said they only sold those for the C6.

LOL, I'm still laughing at the idea that some of you think that $1000 for a set of headers is 'cheap'. You've definitely been in the Vette world for WAY too long. The Vette Tax has beaten you down.

Headers for my 02' SS were $500. The motor is the same and the flow characteristics are the same, so its not like R&D was that expensive for the C5 headers. A few bend tweaks here and there is all that's necessary. Does that justify 2 or 3 x's the price (3 x's in LG's case)?

BTW...headers for my old Mustang Cobra were $249!

I have headers on my Z06, so I'm not really b!tching about the cost as much as I'm just saying, $1,000 for headers is FAR from "cheap".

keep in mind that there's "short tube" amd "long tube" style headers. You may be confusing the lower cost short tube design with the long tube headers being discussed here.

And also, the item being discussed here is a system; the long tube headers with an X-pipe with high flow cats.

Actually; all of that for $1400 is not "Vette Taxed" IMO.

Uh no. The coating is very durable and will not chip unless you hit it real hard against a sharp edge. Does not rust or burn off either. This is money well spent. We've installed many sets on race cars and years later they still look new. Bare stainless will discolor after a very short while. Some like this look however.
Just installed a set of coated Dynatechs and it went well and looks, runs, sounds awesome.

Maybe it's a special or something, but that's usually the price of headers alone, let alone cats, x-pipe, the works??

Just want to know why they're so cheap?? are they no good, you usually get what you pay for.
What gives?
Under 1k is probably just for the headers and not the high flow cats, and x pipe.

Default Cheap headers

Just wanted to throw in my .02. I recently obtained a 04 a4 Lemans vert. I started looking at headers and prices and immediately saw the prices almost doubled if they were for a Corvette. I spent a few days on the forun looking at sponsors prices. Ended up calling Jet-Hot. Long tubes nickel ceramic coated for $600. Thats inexpensive-not $1000. Fit great, give the horsepower, and sound good.

Like most said, the price difference is because of the long tube vs short tube headers.

The Dynatechs are a great deal. Super quality, fit and finish and they work! A much better question is why are most of the other sets so much more expensive?
