General
-------
* concealed headlights
* must retain mainstay/core Corvette trademarks (ex. concealed headlights, quad taillights, etc.) while being based on completely new design and not simply an evolution (or de-evolution) of the previous generation.
Relative to the C6
-----------------
* not such a chopped off rear fascia (i.e. more length to the car behind the rear wheels)
* a move away from "edge" styling
* more organic, flowing, sporty interior with real metal trim/accents, not faux materials
* lower, wider, and sleeker exterior design - less Porsche-like exterior dimensions
* more overall flowing design
Anything's got to be better than the C6, ugliest vette ever!
C6 sucks in the styling dept. No.....Thats wrong..It REALLY SUCKS THE BIG KAHUNA in the styling department. For the C7 I want to see a beautiful car with low flowing lines and great handling like ZO6 or better in the base model, and plenty of HP. No run-crap hard and slippery tires either. Mid engine might be nice!!!!!!!!!!!, but it has to be designed by a team that did not flunk aesthetics and basic design principles class, like the c6 guy/team must have. It's only surpassed in the ugly department by the Lotus Elise, and I'm an old Lotus owner and fan, so it huts me to say that about the current Lotus as much as it does to shame the current Vette. The C6 and the Elise are both terrible looking cars. I will NEVER buy either of them.
I'd like to see one of our photoshop experts do up a C5 (or C6 for comparison) with a split rear window like the '63 coupe. That has always been my favorite year of the Corvette. Other than that, I'm happy with my 04 Vette just as it is! Dan
The next corvette should have LED headlights which don't need big projector bulbs like the C6's, therefore, the headlights could be made into a thin strip which could be covered by a hideaway panel, giving the C7 a flip up light look. It should go back to a twin air inlet grille/DRL look which was a tradition since the C3 but was also thrown out the window with the design of the C6. A detuned LS7 should be the base engine pushing 475 hp. The next Z06 should be a twin turbo 427. The general body shape should only change slightly, maybe having a rear greenhouse that wraps around to the targa top. There's a great rendering that was done back in 95 of what the C5 would look like that shows what I'm talking about. I have it at home and I'll see if I can scan it.

Please someone try this out and post it, would love to see some ideas on paper. The splite window thing is a good idea.

How about making a coupe where instead of having to unhook the top, get out the car, open the back hatch, and put it into place....make it where you could unhook the top from inside the car and have some kind of way to just be able to slide it back in a fixed position and look into place. Maybe it could be done with 1 hand and snap into place. Or even some kind of control that would drop it and inch, then slide it back itself until it was completely behind the seats, lock itself down like a sunroof type deal. That would be kool....
