If you don't mount the F1s, get the Michelin. They are outstanding tires. If you decide at some point to sell the car - you'd best have one of those two on there. Any Corvette nut worth his salt will look at the tires and if they are Kumho, Toyo, etc., he's going to be asking himself what else on the car you didn't have the money to keep up.
I took my F1's off the car with 2000miles.I had a fixable flat(nail in the rear tire).I put some Michelin Pilot sport tires ,one size up on the fronts (275 -40-17) and (335-30-18) rear.No rubbing witk stock wheels.Great grip since the width is greater and alot more reasonable than the Goodyear Supercar tires.I will use the F1's with the patch when the Pilots wear out I don't like driving on a tire thats been patched
I'll have PS2's on my car this weekend. I'll post my opinion next week. Every review I've read said they were the best you could get so I'm giving them a try.

The PS2's came to the market during 2005. To me, this is newer technology than the GY SC's which have been around for several years.
One reason the Goodyear Supercar Tires were used on the Z06 is because it was a lightwieght(and very expensive)tire
If you got to www.tirerack.com, you can compare the specs between the GY SC's and the PS2's; there is virtually no difference in weight between the two tires. Although the PS2's are more expensive, what does that have to do with what OEM tire is being used on a car.
I believe the reason Goodyears come on the Vettes is because of contracts between them and GM. Kind of ironic since the race team went to Michelins and performance improved!
Revelation #1: The GY F1 Supercar is an excellent tire, especially in transitional handling.
Revelation #2: Forget the Michelins. No currently produced Michelin tire is a top performer. You want top grip like the Pilot SX MXX3? Get the BF Goodrich KD (produced by Michelin).
However, the best performance tire you can put on a Z06 right now is the Nitto R2. The sizes (275 front and 305 rear), are specifically for the Z. This tire is the brother of the Toyo Proxes RA-1 but it is 100% streetable. You will not believe the improvement in 1st gear traction, and the tire is right there with the F1 in the curves. Bonus is price. That said, it's a sticky compound, so don't expect 15K out of them.

Low bidder syndrome?
However, have you noticed that Chyrsler uses many Michelins on their cars, as do many Lincolns and Porsche's. Not one GM verhicle comes with Michelins.

Strange, the PS2's that I recently had put on my Z06 feel like meat hooks, but with a super quite and smooth ride.
