Not only did I have to drive mine in the rain today, but I had to drive in to South Boston. Mine is mostly a fair weather car, but I have to admit, it feels good to have it a little dirty right now and not have to worry about it every second. Now if you will excuse, me I have to go wash and Zaino my car!!
It's not the raindrops, it's the road dirt & slop that gets all over under the car & under the hood. Just say to rain for my baby. To each their own I guess..
yeah ppl that dont drive their cars in rain blow my mind... i mean, its a car, you drive it, you wash it, you enjoy it...
Obviously you haven't been reading the reasons why some of us prefer not to drive our Vettes in the rain. I would rather my other car get nicks and chips from wet road debri than my Z06. Why is that so hard to understand?
Sure it's just a car but to some of us it is a life long dream that cost us a lot of money to get. And when you finally get one, you don't want it looking like a beater in a few years of bad weather driving. Hey if I had the money, I'd buy another Corvette to use as a daily driver and not be so **** with. Nah, not really....I could never not be **** over a Corvette.

ive got over 170K miles on mine and drive it everyday and it still looks great...the combination of plastic and fiberglass body panels do a great job at preventing little dings/dents.
to each his own...i understand the reasons ppl dont drive them that much, just isn't something i'd ever do

They don't drive any better here. I lived out there in Peoria (Country Meadows) from 1990 to late 1997 while I was stationed at Luke AFB. I know what you mean about the drivers and rain. I avoid it here but if it gets wet, it cleans up. Eight shows and eight trophies. I don't mind the cleaning. It's good therapy and since the car is black I get a lot of theraputical time.
Nope, it won't melt. Some of us show our cars. It can take 8 to 10 hours to clean the car to get ready for a show and convert the car from a daily driver to a ready for show ride. It comes down to preference and time available. My car is by no means a garage queen. We drive it to Bowling Green at least one per year and she's seen her share of rain but like others, I prefer a spotless clean car with a shine that will stop traffic. If it means that I don't drive the car on one rainy day so that I can drive her clean 4 others I'll gladly take the day off. I have a great daily driver for the one.
