Be tactful. A broken seat can be fixed and it's better than hurting your aunt's feeling. Put it all the way back and let her have a look and let her decide if she want's to try it. She would obviously need some help getting in and out (That can be said for a lot of us!). Good luck. Remember...family is EVERYTHING.
instead of putting the seat all the way back and tempting her - maybe i'll move it forward and make the space look even smaller. - thanks for all the good advice, i dont want to hurt her feelings (the cars). : )

I weight 325# weighted 350# when I bought my vette, I get in & out just fine, and I take long trips 400 miles one-way just fine. no problem with the belt. And yes I'm on a diet, it's one of my go fast mods.

I gotta agree. You shouldn't hurt your Aunt's feelings. Set the seat all the way back and let her make the judgement call. Your seat should be fine. You'd be surprised at what a Corvette seat can handle.
Your seatbelt may be fine too, depending on what year you have. If I remember correctly the early C5 seatbelts seemed a little longer than ones produced after 2000.

Being that large she might not even want to attempt to get in it. If I was a betting man I'd say she wouldn't. In case she does possibly you could help lower her down by holding her arms as she stands sideways to the door. Hope it works out for you.
Thats what I was thinking. When she sees how low it is and cramped, she may pass on the idea.

This is good advise. I had a 300 lbs friend of mine get into my brand new vert and nothing happened. He had a blast and I was glad he enjoyed the ride. Life is too short, just enjoy yourself and make your aunt feel welcomed
Maybe you can stuff one of her butt cheeks in the hatch. Just leave the right one on the seat. When it comes time for her to get out, unlock her door, pull the handle and accellerate into a hard left turn. You will be free and clear in no time.
OK, seriously, I am with the crowd that says to let her try if she wants to. No need to hurt her feelings, but you already know that. I think that's why you asked the question.
GIVE HER A RIDE! I weighed 305 when I got mine drove it for 2years (16000 miles) and it still runs! Family should be first Vettes second ( very close), The cars are ment to be driven and enjoyed by all.

But enjoyed mainly by the person who paid for it....
Bah... I'm 275 and my wife is 280 or so and we fit just fine. Probably won't win many races, but it gets us where we want to go just as comfortably as our Suburban. One of the guys in my Vette Club is close to 400 and he is still driving everyday. Vettes can take it. But getting a seat belt extender is a good idea and its free at the dealer.
