It's a car, the seat can be fixed easier than someones feelings. On the other hand you should be conserned whether she can get in and out without hurting her knees or something, if she can turn-and-sit with maybe you holding her hands for support as she does, but you gotta make sure she watches her head, or take off the roof panel, that would make it a lot easier.

My BIG brother is pushing 400lbs. I let he drive it with out a problem. The seat beat bearly reached. It was extened out all the way. I have a 6 year warranty so I don't mind if he broke something. I love my BIG brother too much not to let him in the car.

I say move the seat all the way forward, and tell her it's all the way back

Well... If you do decide to give her a ride, I would recomend a personal tune up first.

Rule #1 = Pump up the tires up to 62 psi!
Rule #2 = Rent a forklift (that will eliminate the In&Out problem)
Rule #3 = I hope you don't have a MN6 Just order the Clutch Tonight you will need it.
Rule #4 = Make sure the car is out of the driveway and do not take roads that you know have speed bums or else you will start calling em scrape bumps.
Rule #5 = Seat .... I would disconect the terminal if its a power seat, or you can kiss that motor goodbye.

I know what your thinking... "oh darn is there anything good to say about this whole situation?" well... atleast you will have a temporary side airbag on the passinger side.

Same thing at my house... Took the "jaws of life to get her out.......
$1200 in repairs later, and all the family is still happy.... Well worth it.

OMG! I have spent the last 3 minutes reading this thread and I'm having trouble breathing from laughing so hard.

I know a couple of guys close to the 300 mark (one has the Vette) ...
They seem to be fine. I say go for it.

On a side not ... I feel an electrical gremlin coming your way ...

Come on! Sorry, but some of you guys sound like 5th graders sitting there making fun of the fat kid on the playground! Grow up. The world is made up of all kinds of people . . . Different colors, sizes, shapes, genetics, metabolisms, personalities and intelligence. And I gotta say, some here are showing their ignorance. I’m 6’4”, 310 lbs, and I’ve put 18,000 miles on my Vette in the last year. And my 6’2”, 260 lb son often rides with me on cruises. The floor of my car hasn’t fallen through, my seats haven’t broken, parts haven’t been broken off from “grabbing a lift”, my clutch doesn’t burn up on every ride, my seat motors have not burned out, seat belts fit just fine, and I don’t have to run 62 psi in my tires! I know a lot of the comments have been made in jest, and I can laugh at the jokes with everyone else, and not be offended. But some of the comments, recommendations, and suggested signage are NOT in jest – They’re flat out mean! – They’re ignorantly and childishly insensitive! -- They’re downright offensive! Is anyone else offended here? I’ve always felt this forum was a friendly, welcoming brotherhood/sisterhood. When did it turn so judgmental and elitist? I’m embarrassed for the group of us! Sad!

And before the 5th grade flaming begins, save it. I just wanted to get my $.02 worth in too. And I would hope that it might cause a few stop and think about things on a little deeper level. But then people are who they are.

I know! I should have just bit my tongue and kept quiet. But the more I read, the more it just rubbed my sensibilities the wrong way.

Okay . . . Let the jabbing and flaming begin!

GM offers a seat belt extension, about 10". Usually free of charge. Ask your parts man to give you one.

When she gets in, she won't be comfortable. A short ride will be enough.

You can't hurt her feelings because of her condition. These think are built well. I'm sure with the difficulty of getting in an out, the car will be fine.

If you get along with your aunt, let her ride... it might make her day. If you don't and want to be mean, use some of the lame excuses offered here. Honestly I don't think this question has anything to do with whether letting a large woman ride in your car will damage it, at least I hope you're not seriously asking if a CAR (yes, your vette is just a CAR really) can handle a 300lb passenger. That's kinda what it's designed to do after all!
Next you'll be asking if you should put anything in the trunk, for fear of harming the delicate rear suspension, or bending the rims.
Oh and one more thing... if you're so concerned about her grabbing onto something to help get herself out of the car, here's an idea... HELP HER OUT YOURSELF.

Hi blesmess94 -

Not going to be a problem -

If she can get in, she will be fine.

There are several C5 DRIVERS that are 300lbs or more, let alone passengers. You know who you are...

It will not affect the rocking seat.

And tell your aunt she had great taste in fine automobiles.

best regards -

I would not let her in the car. I weighed 270 at XMAS and I KNEW I was a fatty. I have come to my senses and am loosing it quickly. Down to 236 and still going. She knows she is fat and should not expect people to sacrifice or risk damage to property because of HER problem. I know I sound hard but, I have been there and know that as long as people bow down and do "special" things for someone in that situation; it will be taking advantage of.

What do you do? You give her a ride of course. For heaven's sake, it's a bloody car not some piece of bone china. I've carried people weighing nearly 300 in the front and put a couple of hundred pounds in the back and all that happened was a great booming voice came down from the firmament telling me I'd be sent to hell for driving my Corvette in the rain but the car itself didn't skip a beat.
