I just purchased my first C5 vette and love it. I noticed that when I stop and put car in Park and shut off enigine, remove the key the doors are still locked. I have to manually unlock them with the button on the door. Is this correct, most GM cars automaticly unlock when the key is removed. I looked in the manual but couldn't find anything about it. Is this the way it is or am I missing something?? Thanks

You can set it to open Driver side, Both or none. In the Options menu as the others have said.

You can change it. Also if you install a Window Valet you can program the locks to unlock when the auto is put in park (or when the parking brake is set on the manual) The removing the key thing got old in a hurry for me.
Unlocking when put in park should have been one of the DIC options.
NOTE: As a suggestion, you may want to update your profile with the model year and type (coupe, vert, FRC, or Z06) of your car. This may help others here when attempting to assist you. Hope the following helps.
From the '03 Owner's Manual:
Auto Lock
Press the OPTIONS button until AUTO LOCK appears on the display, then use the RESET button to page through the following choices:
AUTO LOCK ON
AUTO LOCK OFF
If you choose AUTO LOCK ON, both doors will automatically lock when the vehicle exceeds 10 mph (16 km/h) in a manual transmission. In a vehicle with an automatic transmission both doors will automatically lock when you move the shift lever out of PARK (P). Choose AUTO LOCK OFF to turn this option off.
Auto Unlock
The AUTO UNLOCK will be available only if AUTO LOCK is set to ON as described previously. Press the OPTIONS button until AUTO UNLOCK appears on the display, then use the RESET button to page through the following choices:
AUTO UNLOCK DRIVER
AUTO UNLOCK BOTH
AUTO UNLOCK OFF
If you choose AUTO UNLOCK DRIVER, the driver’s door will automatically unlock when you turn the vehicle off and pull the key out of the ignition. Choose AUTO UNLOCK BOTH, and both doors will automatically unlock when you turn the vehicle off and pull the key out of the ignition. AUTO UNLOCK OFF turns off this option.
