Default Radar: Bel Rx65Pro

Looks like I am going to finally get radar detector (just got a laser ticket)..

I am curious why no body talks about the Bel Rx65Pro. I t gets great reviews.

Its smaller than the Escort and cheaper than the V1.

It has Ku band wihich we may need to deal with in the future.

Does it hook up to mirror like the Escort and V1??

Is only the V1 upgradable?? And how much do they charge??

Thanks.....just looking for facts not wars....

I bought the Rx65pro and really like it. I too read all the reviews and realized that it was a very close third to V1 and Escorts but for half the price of the V1. Escort and Bel are the "same" company now so this would explain being right behind the Escort. I especially like the Ku band, not that it is here yet, but nothing keeping it out of the cops hands. Not to mention it is upgradeable unlike many other detectors out there. After having it for 4 months I can count on one hand how many times it has gone off with a false alarm. All in all I am happy with the Rx65pro

I got mine new when I purchased my vette last year ... it's the 5th or 6th one I've had and believe it's one of the best. I know that it compares very favorably with the top selling units out there and scored well in the radar test shoot out ( http://www.radartest.com/article.asp?articleid=9090 )

However ... these will not help much if your flying open with little cover and you get hit with laser .... beware!!

Hard to believe it took a laser ticket for you to pop for a radar dector. Now I know why you always let JB or one of the other renagades run point on the canyon runs. You might want to go with a laser cloaking device if your need for speed persists off the track. When you get zapped with a laser you are usually already SOL. Your laser dector will just tell you its time to pull over and spreadum.

Everyone should have both a radar detector and laser jammer. I have the BEL 985 - excellent detector at a great price. I believe it has been superceded by the 995.
