saw, and paid, 3.99 a gallon for 93 Mobil in upstate NY on Monday.
Keep the thread going, I'm sure someone will see $5.00 a gallon by the end of the month.
I use 93 Octane in all of my engines, i.e., cars, suv, motorcycles, garden tractor, lawn mower. The Z06 runs great and there is no pinging or detonation.

91 octane is the maximum octane available for those of us in CA. We used to have 92 or 93 available to us but a few years ago they limited us to 91 octane. The car does run okay on it, but following a recent dyno run, the tuner told me that he could get some significant hp gains out of my car by tuning it for 91 octane. He said that the factory tune is maximized for 93 and that my car was knocking quite a bit with the 91. All that being said, I still pulled 360 at the rear wheels on a bone stock motor.
As of today, the best I can find at a major brand station is 3.20 per gal. That is a Union 76 station, but there are stations in the area selling 91 at 3.30 to 3.50 per gal.
Options are 93,89, and 87 Octane in OH. Stick with 93 on Z06, however DD ride ( Caddy sdv) mix between 93 & 89 octane (91 rec. prem grade in manual) w. no problems.
I own a stock 2001 convertible with automatic. I just cruise around town. No performance driving. I always used premium 91 octane here in the Chicago area.
I'm now experimenting with 87 octane due to cost of fuel. So far, with half a tank consumed, all seems perfectly normal. No pings, no issues. Gas mileage is being watched closely.
It's way too early to conclude, but preliminary fuel economy results is....... 1/2 mile per gallon less with 87 octane.
Final results may be "A Wash" The money I'm saving in cheaper gas might be lost in lower fuel economy.
On the other hand, if the fuel economy ends up the same, then 87 regular is a good choice for cruising/commuting.
