I have been saving up for a few months to buy some mods for my 98 vert, like stainless steel cowl and some tailight louvers and then disaster strikes! My mods are again on the back burner and I have given the almost $200 to the American Red Cross. I can live without the luxury but those poor people in the Southeast aren't living. Just my way of helping. Thanks for listening and may your prayers help the unfortunate.
That's GREAT! Wife and I donated $200 to Noah's Wish which is for something folks forget about...Animal rescue organization. It would be nice if this thread does not get LOCKED as compassion should also be a part of our Corvette tradition...........

Now that's what I'm talking about! Adding taillight louvers to your car seems somewhat insignificant when held next to food, water and shelter for a victim of this worst natural disaster to hit the U.S. in recent memory. "You're a good man, Charlie Brown......"
My company (corporation) donated $50K yesterday. They also stated that they would match dollar for dollar contributions from employees up to another $50K (total goal is $150K). The disaster seems so bad that it will take donations from all corners of this country and hopefully we will see help from our foreign friends as well. My mod money is on the way down there I hope as I am doing all I can on a personal level. Hard to sleep at night seeing the suffering and destruction that is literally right around the corner from my comfy life. Could be any one of us... Let's pray for these people and hope that aid gets to where it is needed most.
What's pissing me off is none of that money is getting to the people.
it takes time. money will be used for the extended problems, such as long term food, shelter, water, etc...
right now the most immediate needs are the types of things that only the government can provide, such as military assistance, and major infrastructure work.
