if you were local and all it needed was the back cover and maybe new 1/4's(which unbolt btw)i could have you back on the road in a few hours if you could find the new panels, black is the 2nd most common color for c5's
Wow!, I am glad you are allwright! She looks bad, but have no fear the bump shop manager told me the vette is one of the best built cars for accidents! I am glad mine is a MN6, if it was a automatic the damage would have been horrible becouse my foot would have been on the brake not the clutch. Thats why my car was pushed so far becouse it rolled with the rear impact!!!!! Maybe you can talk the bump shop manager into some mods! Mine is putting on a Corsa exhaust instead of the stock one!!!!!
Same situation here. I had the car out of gear waiting for the OK from the officer to move through the intersection when I was hit. The impact pushed the car back about 10 ft which I am sure absorbed some of the impact force and reducing the damage.
I'll be inquiring about an aftermarket hood during the repair process.
I'm just not sure how the insurance company is going to feel about replacing all the extras that were on the car before it was hit. Anybody know what stance they take on that issue? I mean are they only requred to repair it to factory condition or are they required to restore it to the preaccident condition?

Insurance company has to replace everything to pre-accident condition, does not matter if you had mods or not! Now, the accident was a bad thing and nobody wants to go through the B.S. involved with it! But here is your chance to turn it around. Insurance company has to provide you with estimate of repair with prices. For example the stock GM hood is 600.00 and you know of an aftermarket one you like for the same price or less then do the leg work and talk to your bump shop manager, give him the company (including phone), price, and part number and ask him if he will order the one you want instead. All they want to do is make you happy with the end product! If it cost more than the estimmate offer to pay the difference!
