My son is a recent college graduate and employed by KMT Waterjet which manufactures high speed cutting heads for industrial use. This system is great for intricate cutting with no heat warpage and has multiple applications in almost any industry. He has been working with Jay Leno and the producers of "Rides" to encourage them to use this system in their program and the projects they work on.
This past weekend he spent some time in California as a guest of Jay Leno at his show and then got to tour Jay Leno's collection of automobiles. My son shared that Jay is a true gear head and one of the nicest people he has ever met. During the tour he noticed that Jay had a MY C5 Z 06. He got a picture of Jay with this car and had it autographed for me. Jay's Z is a special production job with Z 06/ 512 HP emblems, power hood, special wheels and such. Jay told my son that anytime he was in the area to call him and that they would get together. One of the full time mechanics that has been with Jay for years shared with my son that he had known Jay Leno when he had nothing and the guy today is the very same as he was when he started. Jay is a real car nut and everything he owns he drives. Amazing as it sounds he does not own one Ferrari.
I've read more than once and I think it was on a show once that he has a elevator to move cars to a second level in his storage/garage area too... Neat...
Jay does seem to be quite the decent down-to-earth guy that everyone makes him out to be... That and the fact that he seems to be a true car lover, speaks volumes about him.
Jay is a true enthusiast who drives his cars...Catch him at a car show and he looks like anyone else, old jeans, hair a little messed up, etc. Definitely a car guy
I agree, we should invite him over!

Great picture. I agree, I see Jay as a down to earth person. I've heard many times of his car collection but must be something else to see it in person!
This explains the comment he made during the "Rides" episode. The chassis of his Toronado is from a couple of C5's. During the show, they showed the hacked up chassis, and he commented that "the Corvette guys will be upset about this" (or something close to that.) Nice to see a C5 is in his stable. It's also nice to hear that there aren't any Ferrari's in there.
