On the 2 or 3 days a year we see snow or ice I just park it in the garage and wait for it to melt.
I must say, though, when I lived in Chicago in the '70s my '70 Vette with studded snow tires was a regular tractor in the snow. As long as the drifts didn't get too high, I could and did go anywhere all winter.
I actually do put 'em to bed for the winter. But sometimes you have to do what ya gotta do. Nine months of winter and three months of damn poor sledding. Cheers!
You have a very beautiful C5. The custom paint scheme in blue flame tones to compliment your C5 are quite stunning. Now, would you really want to drive that gorgeous investment in the snow??? Maybe keep her tucked in for the winter. She's just too damn beautiful!
I do not change tires here. There is no need to. Just drive normal and you'll be fine. When there is 2 feet of snow, that is a different story. Most cars would not make it out of that. So the Vette, to me, is no different.
I run the Goodyear Mud and Snows on my '88 daily driver during the winter months here in NY. They get me home when I need them to. The regular Eagles would slip something terrible in the snow. I'm not sure if they are made in sizes for my C5 though. They might not be made any more as the last set I had to get my dealer to search for them among all the Goodyear dealers.
At least I know I'm not the only one to drive these cars in the winter, call me crazy but I bought them to drive and not stand around looking at them waiting for the right weather. Just my 2¢
