there both great cars 
(vette i use everyday without any problems...viper is a once in a while car) vettes you see a lot more often...vipers are rare...vettes more comfortable...vipers are more powerful...tons of things for comparison/contrast...all in all there both awesome cars

IMHO, the Viper is a very visually stunning automobile with a lot of o.e. raw power. However, it just is not as honed and refined in the interior (no left foot rest, cramped compartment, no head room for someone over six feet tall, etc.), nor, in handling (great ABS Brakes, but, the C5 feels so much more stable and more in control with the combined compliment of the Traction Control and Active Handling feature specific to the C5). The Viper may have a few more cc's. However, add just a few mods, and, have a snake for breakfast.

the Charger, 300C, and Magnum are all built on the Merc. E-class chasis.
That merger was the best thing that could have happened for dodge, do we not remember the crap they were making before?

Ahhhhh! and look what Chrysler has done to Mercedes lately- they infected Mercedes with crappy car i-titis and s***ty car-ititis. I have a few friends who have the current model Mercedes -no specific model and all they complain about it's poor quality currently.

Maybe Mercedes should continue to provide info and ideas to Chrysler, and kindly say "no-thanks" to Chrysler's suggestions. If what you say is true, then Mercedes was building better cars without Detroits input.

Everything I've read about the viper is that it is very crampedand the pedals are very close together. As a whole package (as in daily driver) the vette has it.

I like the old and new vipers. The look, the power, and rarity appeal to me. Trade my vette for it? Stock-in a minute. Modded--no. But I would let the two of them share a garage in a heart beat. We have a big time tuner here in Charlotte with vipers, so you have to pick and pray if you plan to test one locally!!!

Clown shoe or not, I still think the new hardtop is a gorgeous car...

No where will you find the value, performance and refinement that you find in a Vette. Just the price of the Viper (unless you are independently wealthy) can justify the purchase over a Vette. Also, the miles per gallon is another serious consideration (especially now with premium at a premium. I guess it all boils down to what one wants from their purchase, but for me, I'll stick with the Corvette.

....as if driving a Viper somehow legitimizes their existence on Earth You want to put them in their place? Don't bother...they ARE in their "place"...and it's NOT a good place.
