I wanted to get some input from Corvette owners on the rivalry between Corvettes and Vipers. I have two friends who own Vipers, one RT-10, one GTS and I'm always getting crap from them for owning a Corvette. I've driven both and personally I prefer the C5 - just wondering what you guys thought about this rivalry and maybe give me some points I can use to put these Viper owners in their place.
Had both, Viper is crazy fast, gets tons of gawks, vette is very useful and comfortable. I sold my GTS and Bought another vette. That should answer the question.
Chrysler is a German company. Thus Dodge is German. Guess you could say that it is an import that is built here.
Well, technically. Chrysler is still it's own company. Yes they are owned by Daimler-Benz but they still do make their own vehicles. The only 2 cars I know that share parts with the Benz is the Chrysler Crossfire which shares it's engine and chassis ( if I'm not mistaken) with the SLK roadster. And the upcoming Mercedes Benz R-class which will share parts with the currently on the market Chrysler Pacifica.

Chrysler is no more its own company then Jaguar is, or Saab is. It is its own company the same as Mercedes in that both are totaly owned by Diamler-Benz, a German corporation. Any profits created by Chrysler flow directly to Germany. It IS a German company.
If you buy a Dodge or Chrysler, the profits end up in Germany. On the otherhand if you buy an "English" Jaguar or a "Swedish" Saab, those profits come to the U.S. Just follow the cash flow if you are considering the purchase of a car that is not made by an American company.

Got to agree with Tom73 Chrysler cars and trucks are no different than a honda or toyota built here in the US The parent company is a foreign company and the profits go to this foreign company.
My father is a retired Chrysler employee, He's been retired for almost 20 years, long before Daimler bought Chrysler. He bought some Chrysler stock while employed by Chrysler, He now has to pay income tax to Germany on the profits on his Chrysler stock. Chrysler is a Foreign Car company.

Just tell them that you have a car that does so many things well (performance, economy, ergonomics, looks, handling) and you paid a heck of a lot less than the Viper owners did for the car.
I like Vipers. I think they are good looking cars with great performance. I prefer the refinement of a Corvette over the Viper though. A Vette can be daily driven easily.
