I was in the same place you were 6 months ago...didn't know what I wanted to do to my C5...believe me, everyone on here has an opinion. But it boils down to what YOU want and what your goals are, HP, quickness, sound...all of the above? Since I knew nothing about mods (keep reviewing the forum and you will be an expert soon) I asked around. Most everyone said the first thing was to get rid of the stock air intake system...it sucks...like running with your hand around your throat. I went with the Blackwing ($300) and added a high flow air bridge and smooth bellows ($200). The next thing I did was to add Corsa Pace car exhaust ($1800). What a difference just from adding those. I'm now looking at Kook's headers and X pipe and then changing the gear ratio out from the worthless 2.73 to a 3.42. Of course, along the way you can add inserts (letters back, front, dash-airbag) vette essentials and engine compartment bling. I'm not sure but the actually HP from the changes I've made to date is probably only 20 or so, but a noticable difference. Good luck and have fun.
Yeah I did almost identical mods and there is noticable difference. Once I had a pro do a Predator tune everything came together very nicely! Also changed gears from 2.73 to 3.42, (huge difference). Now looking to do long tube headers and X-pipe and then I'm done for awhile. Good luck!
I decided to start with the blackwing and corsa exhaust first. Then find a tuner in my area if there's one to be found.
As for the corsa, I'm afraid the pace car might too loud for me so I'm leaning toward the touring. They say there's not difference in flow. Plus, if I add headers later I'm sure that will make it louder too.
