May take a little legwork, but try tracing the owners back and seeing what the story was. Could be perfectly legit, but when you are spending a sizable amount of money, you want to be sure. Good luck. Just remember there are lots of C5s out there to choose from.
Could be that it was a lease, they can accumulate records like that just going from the lease co. to the leasee, back to the lease co. and them to a dealer.
The Carfax is only one way of assessing the car. NOTHING beats a thorough inspection by a qualified Corvette mechanic. If it costs you $75 it will be well spent to protect you from big headaches later and it may give you a negotiating point or two.
