Hey everyone,
I just recently developed this terribly annoying creaking sound from my car. It happens whenever it goes over bumps at an angle...i.e, if I go directly over a speed bump there is little to no creaking. A perfect example is when I back out of my driveway, which is fairly steep. When I back out on to the road, my car creaks very loud. The noise seems to be coming from directly underneath the center of the car. It's kind of embarrassing when I have passengers in the car. Anyway, I washed the car this past weekend and in particular tried to hose down the car real good from underneath as well (yes, I like to have even the underside looking good, no mud). Well, when I hosed it down, the car stopped creaking. I drove it around for an hour and the creaks started back up later on. However it was definitely gone there for a while. I have no doubt that something with the water stopped the creaking, but I'm not sure why. Does the car need chassis lubrication? Thanks for any help!

There really aren't any chassis lubrication points. I wonder if you have sway bar bushings that are creaking. I had that on my older Pontiac. We wound up putting a little white grease between the bar itself and the bushing.
Like you I have a steep drive and when getting at an angle to keep the air dam from scaping the car is twisted and mine makes some noises to, but doesnt seem to be as bad as what you describe.
Thanks for the responses. I didn't think there were chassis lubrication points, but I was not sure. I have Z06 swaybars that I put on last December, so it very well could be those that are causing the problem. Also I will check some of the other bushings to see if those are the problem. Thanks for the help.
