I bought two tail lights just for the outside right and left. I have installed them with spliced in fittings from the dealer but can't get the config. right to make them work for turn and brake. Wire colors on each side are different. Help please.
Left: Yellow is Stop/Turn Lamp feed; Brown is Park Lamp feed; Black is ground.
Right: Dk Green is Stop/Turn, Brown is Park Lamp; Black is ground.
I don't think that with stock harness you can isolate the turn signal from brake light, from what I see here. Let me dig a little deeper - you may need to come off the harness in the right rear fenderwell to get it to work.
I installed the full euro lights including the harness which splits the turn signals and brake lights into separate bundles for each light housing.
To finish the mod you need to snip a white wire under the dash which allows them to operate independently. Not sure if you could do that with just two outer lights fitted?
Right now the way they are wired the amber light is always on with the lights and stays solid even when the upper light blinks for the turn signal. Looks good but, non functional. Tried evey combo to make them work (or I thought I did) but I could only get one to blink right. The other would blink opposite or faster.
One wire does stop and indicator. Cut the white wire at the brake pedal and it will only be indicator. Now run a new wire from the brake pedal side of the white wire to the rear of the car, and this will be your stop lamp wire.

Not to hi jack or anything, but this has given me a pretty cool idea. Using all 4 euro lights but having the inside 2 for back up lights and leave the outsides for turn signals. hmmmmmm

That is actually the true "Euro" configuration, as the export models have to allow for wider license plates, and don't have the back-up lenses we do in the states.

But then you'll have two sets of back up lights?
and like Steve said,

It cracks me up actually - we want their cool tri color lamps, and pay extra for them - they long for the solid red US only lamps, maybe the factory should have made the Euro lamps a domestic option, then there'd be no wires to cut!
The catch is that in Europe you need high intensity rear fog lights which you can see in the rear bumper of this Euro Vette. So although you get the red/amber and the red/white lenses, the fog lights take over the look. The additional back up lights around the number plate are not normally fitted in UK.
