Well...what do you guys think...a manual car..or an automatic? What are your reasons bheind your choice? Let's see ; ) (personally..I drove a manual miata, but an automatic vette-just found that I liked it better that way) but what do you guys think?
I'll have to keep an eye on this thread. This topic usually ends up getting heated!!
Personally, I wouldn't want a Corvette with anything other than a manual transmission. I have owned over 10 Corvettes and Muscle Cars through the years and they all had a clutch pedal and stick shift!
I have had many stick cars from my racing days in the 70's then and even more so now tecnology would have me believe in an all and all out go at it the automatic would kick *** . I have an A4
From what I've seen at the local track with average drivers, they are pretty even. Most won't drive their vettes like pros so it comes down to who gets off the line the best. So that is not really an issue
Another point: I don't think alot of people here run their Corvettes at the track (including me) so it comes down to what YOU enjoy driving.
I've had my share of sticks I got the Auto. Both are fun cars to drive
Production Info:
I guess most agree with Auto based off of sales, 75% of all Coupes and verts sold in 2004 were automatics. I think you will find this to be about average over the C5 production run.
