OIL CHANGE MADE EASY.

1. Take a short ride to warm up the oil to operating temp.

2. Put my car facing down in my driveway.

3. I use a low profile jack on the driver's side with a puck. Jack the car up five pumps

4. Put a jack stand under the A Frame

5. Oil drain pan under the filter
6. Put on a rubber glove and have a few paper towels handy.
7. remove the filter first, let it drain
8. remove the dirty filter from the drain pan
9. remove the drain plug let the oil drain (15mm socket)
10. remove the jack stand and lower the jack
11. go have a beer, about 15 minutes later, come back jack the car back up ( five pumps )
12. Lube the oil filter gasket with fresh oil and fill the filter with as much oil as you can get in there and install, clean off the oil drain plug and install.
13. Add the oil and start the engine check for leaks
14. pull out the drain pan
15. lower the car
16. reset the oil life monitor. Bring up the oil life on your DIC. Turn the key to ACC. and press the gass pedal 3 times.
17. Store the drained oil in a stable container to be recycled.

The End

To reset the oil life monitor, you can pump the gas peddle three times fully to the floor but you have to turn the key to the on position first (But don't start the car!)

Or... You can run thru the buttons on the dash and you'll figure it out.. I think it is when you get to the oil life monitor display, press the reset button then.. you may have to hold it a sec? Geez, it's been a few months since Spring.. I'm getting old and senile!!

I think you have the rest of the info...

MyVetteDreams write up is good advice.

Here's another tip page that was posted a while back. It has some pictures too:

Best of luck. I'm gearing up to do my next change myself as the Stealer charges $80+ for $25 worth of oil and filter.
