Well I agree with everything. Except the 46 thing. And the 3 grown kids. Oh and the 3 grandkids. And mine is machine silver metallic. And I live in the bay area.

But I agree that you just have to stomp on it every once in a while.

Default What is speeding?

Did you know that speed limits are simply rules decided on by your elected officials to protect the masses from themselves while driving conventional cars nearly 50 years ago? Speed limits have now become an important and vital source of revenue for your local and state governments generating fines to maintain our highways and streets, pay for mass transportation and buy new police cars to enforce further revenues.

So consider speed limits simply rough guidelines that you can choose to follow or ignore depending on road conditions, traffic conditions, your car's capabilities, and your attitude at any particular moment. I'm 55 and I drive like I did when I was 20 and have no intentions of changing now. If I did, I'd just ride the city bus to and from the rest home. I say live your life and enjoy your vette, but exercise judgment when to have a little fun. I just drove at Sears Point last week and enjoyed every heart pounding minute. If I check out early, at least I can say I enjoyed the ride with no regrets. I say to those that disagree to sell your vette buy a Toyota ...shhhhh!

As Roscoe P. Coltrane has said many many times in the "DUKES OF HAZZARD", "I love it, I love it!"

Thanks for your fine post!

Let's agree that we are Vette guys here and we are part of a brotherhood. I say let's just be smart and stay alive. Do what you think is right for you and that's that. There will be no winner here.

Modern highways with their wide lanes, banked grooved curves, generous shoulders and center medians are SAFE into the triple digits.

What's not safe is irresponsible drivers.... the ones that refuse to observe the law that says "keep right except to pass" . These left lane losers are usually the cause of problems and accidents. Someone behind these idiots gets frustrated and takes a chance..... a chance that is not necessary if these losers simply stay in the right lane.

So my two cents says don't blame the more competent, confident drivers blame( and fine) the losers.....

Thanks everyone else who lives honestly!

C5 KIDD, well said!

ZOOOM,

Ask yourself, a cop that speeds to catch a criminal, "Is that safe driving?" NO! People are killed each and everyday and guess what it isn't from speedracer every time, no drunk drivers kill more people on the highways every year than a speeding immature guy or gal behind the wheel...AND THAT IS A FACT! Why am I lashing out at you? I am not, I am stating a point that everyone that gets into a car tasks a risk and your chances of being killed by any form of driver is likely! Insurance companies did a AMERICAN wide research and found that people that drive sports cars, CORVETTES, MUSTANGS, VIPERS, E55s, you name it, are better drivers THAN moms driving a MINI-VAN at 80 miles an hour trying to change the DVD out in the video player.

Thank you all for your time!

What would I tell my kid? The same thing as the Soldier that posted prior to me, accidents happen! Thanks for your service my brother!

Micah
Well my brothers, I am at 17 and going on 20 or 35 who knows? I appreciate your service as well, and we are blessed to be able to enjoy the brotherhood of this forum. Be careful out there and lets all come home safe, have a cold one, and drive slow on the street and look cool! And then have fun at the track
Dave

This thread can only go further down hill. If you haven't lived in Germany like I did I feel sorry for you.
