I have to give Allstate some props here, when my 99 FRC was destroyed last week I thought I was going to get the shaft, but to my surprise(thank you Jesus) they are giving me the option of a check for 28, 996 or I keep the car and a check for 22,802. What do you think, they want my answer by end of bus. tomm.
Thanks
I think I will be taking the bigger check. I will be replacing it with a new C6 Z06 however for now, then I am going to try and find the best duplicate I can and mod it exactly the same way- you know try to make a clone.
Holy crap for 29k I'll go burn my car to the ground and start over(thats 5k more than I paid for it a year ago and mines a 2000)!!! How many miles were on your car and how the hell did they agree to pay so much?
One of their insured hit my stationaly Vette, and we have a witness to that fact, AND the driver admitted she didn't even look or see before backing into it.....Allstate offered crap....50% of repair costs, and denial of 100% of the rental car.....so now we are headed to Court. I guess they take care of people who are insured insured with them better than those who are damaged by their insured. Based on what I have learned from body shops and conversations with others, Allstate is universally really tough to get money from if your a non-client claiment.
Congrats to you for getting a good price for your loss...

Good decision. You never know what problens you would find
If you can sell the car as is or part it out for more than $6K, I'd take the smaller check and keep the car. Otherwise take the larger check. Even with the smaller check you should be able to buy yourself a newer model replacement.
