Purple Vertte
Today at Six Flags in IL I parked next to a 1997-2000 Vertte that was Purple, white top, black interior. The owner also put some chrome Z06 wheels on it and it had some good looking round 4 tip exhaust, did not see what kind. It was a sharp exterior color, just not one I have seen before. Very dark purple, almost looked black. Is this a rare factory color or did someone paint it this way?

The only factory purple produced during the C5 years was Medium Purple Pearl Metallic (RPO 95U) in model year 1998. Only 381 units were sprayed that color for 1998. I've also seen it called Majestic Amethyst Metallic. You can see a pic of it at the following link:

Guy in my club has one. First time I saw it I thought it was Spiral Grey. Very close in some lights but obviously different when parked together with a real MSG. Cool color you won't see every day.
