Wait a sec. Now I am confused....
Oh no... I've gone and went cross eyed! You're right though... for the rear... the front bolts you tighten, removing the space

I had mine lowered by the dealer (I know.....but, I am unable to do certain things since my 3rd heart attack) on the stock bolts and I could not be happier. I have NO PROBLEM with speed bumps or scaping. I do notice it rides a little bit rougher but, it drive so much better! It feels kinda beat to pull behind a VW bug and look UP at it!

Too low is too difficult for a daily driver. (IMO)

The front bolts are not reverse threaded!

Think of the 10mm hex as the head of the bolt, If you loosen it, (spin it ccw) it will run further up in the spring. ...this is exactly what you want to lower the car. If you imagine a plain end to this bolt, with no bushing under the spring, you could keep loosening it until it came out the top of the spring, just like loosening any normal bolt
If you turn it clockwise, it threads further down in the spring, pushing down on the control arm, and thus raises the car.

The confusing part of it is....the only way the bolt is removed from the spring by essentially fully "tightening" it until it falls out the bottom, the small hex size facilitates this.

You are absolutely 100% "technically" correct. But I still call it reverse thread because my brain will not allow that many multiplies by (-1)...

I don't know where you people drive theses lowered Vettes but I can't get in and out of my driveway now without scraping bottom.
Mine is not lowered. I have a standard style driveway with a gutter in front of it.

Default Sometimes it hurts to be cool!

Have a 99 Mallett that has the Penske suspension which is a little lower than stock AND it's been lowered too. The look is AWSOME, but boy does it ever SCRAPE. Driveways, potholes, uneven roadways, road debris, you name it. I have replaced the front air dam a couple of times, but I gotta tell ya, I still love the look.

I lowered mine with longer bolts from west coast corvettes and totally removed the bushing in the front even smoothed out the metal some.

I LOVE the look its amazing how it totally made the car

It does ride rough and bounce more and there are just some things that you'll scrape on no matter how you take them...I'm considering going up 1/4 inch in the rear.

Like everyone is saying. It depends on where you live. I live in Florida and have no problems anywhere exept the local Burger King. Luckily I don't go there much anyway. Mine is lowered all the way on stock bolts.
