nate.........contrary to popular opinion, particularly here, there is indeed life after owning a corvette. you're on a solid track my man getting things in good order. if one is in hawk up to one's *ss just to have a corvette, that is not good at all. from my perspective, fwiw, owning a corvette is somewhat of a dream and a pretty good one at that. however, i keep my feet on the ground by never forgetting that it is first & foremost a car----i often say it's a very special car & i feel like a million bucks driving it but it is just a car. there are many far more important things in life. getting one's finances in good working order is far more important than driving a vette. there may or may not be another corvette in your future. either way, no car is going to make you financially solvent or happy. best of luck. bub
The sacrifices you are making now will pay dividends later for you and your girlfriend.
Soon you'll be driving the newest Vette around, and I'll just have this old Z
No kidding I drive garbage until I was 36 and then bought my first Vette used,at 40 I bought my Z new and paid for it. Never thought I would realize the fantasy of owning a Vette, but the years of driving junk paid off. Hopefully it will for you as well, and before 40
Pateince and hard work will pay off, but always put your family first
Good decision. At least you were able to experience owning a Corvette at a young age, I had to wait until I was in my late 40s to buy my first one. One day when can own another Vette, and it will be even sweeter.
I did a similar thing when I first got married. I owned a one year old MR2. When we bought our first house the car had to go , we could only afford one car so we kept my wifes Honda Civic ( which we both hated).
The ironic part is that when I first got the MR2 I was renting an apartment and had to park on the street ( which I hated). When I bought the house it had a nice two car garage, only I didn't have a car anymore.....
Sounds like you got your priorities straight. Smart! There will be lots of C5's next year too and you'll find another. Many of us waited for the right time in our lives for our dream cars, personally - I had to wait until I was 49....life kinda got in the way. Good luck to you and don't forget to pay us a visit from time to time. That way when you're ready to pull the trigger on the next C5 - you'll be up to speed on the latest trials and tribulations!

Sometimes, parents may actually need their children in more ways than one. I moved out when I was 18 too. Still, if you no what you're doing, cars are a GREAT investment. Prove me wrong.

Ummm if you read the post, he says he is moving on... And he sounds as though he's becoming a big boy... DO you always state the OBVIOUS after the fact?
Looks to me like you were being rude and DUMB!
Sorry, I just hate it when the bashers come out... Especially when someone is trying to do right... If he had said, Ummm I have THREE cars and I want to buy a house but can't.. what shall I do??
Then someone says, sell a couple cars!! and he says, NO way.. then you can give him hell.. but after it's obvious he has his poop in a group... umm No...
Natescashmoney...Way to go in getting it straight...
Get the house !!!!! Mine has quadrupled in price and I could easily pay cash for a new Z06, but the wife won't let me. Which leads me to point number 2........get a prenup or don't get married!!!!!!
