Thats right, I had to sell my first Corvette! I finally realized where my priorities should have been a year and a half ago when I first bought her. It is time to consolidate my bills and put my finances toward a house. I will be looking for another C5 around the same time next year. For now I think it's time to move out of the parents house again, and buy a house for me and my girlfriend. Man, when I'm driving my frickin' 1991 Park Ave all next summer I am going to miss that vette. Anybody in the Springfield, MO area keep an eye out for my first love, a 1998 Torch Red M6 Z51 with red window tint and B&B Bullets. Give her a kiss for me.

Sounds like you got your priorities straight. Smart! There will be lots of C5's next year too and you'll find another. Many of us waited for the right time in our lives for our dream cars, personally - I had to wait until I was 49....life kinda got in the way. Good luck to you and don't forget to pay us a visit from time to time. That way when you're ready to pull the trigger on the next C5 - you'll be up to speed on the latest trials and tribulations!
The sacrifices you are making now will pay dividends later for you and your girlfriend.
Soon you'll be driving the newest Vette around, and I'll just have this old Z
No kidding I drive garbage until I was 36 and then bought my first Vette used,at 40 I bought my Z new and paid for it. Never thought I would realize the fantasy of owning a Vette, but the years of driving junk paid off. Hopefully it will for you as well, and before 40
Pateince and hard work will pay off, but always put your family first
The same thing happened to me and my first Corvette, a 1970 big block coupe. Don't worry, once you get your life in order, they'll be plenty of time to get another baby.
Thanks for validating my reasons for me guys I guess I just needed to "hear" a couple of vette guys tell me what I did was right. I am looking at a duplex already and I hope to have enough equity built up in the next year or two to borrow the money for a vette, or a substantial downpayment for a vette, against the house. Luckilly for me my girlfriend shares the same passion for Vettes that I do. I will continue to post here on a regular basis, and keep learning about Vettes so I can make a more educated decision when I am ready to buy again. For now I think I will start to buy some small mods before I get the car, so when I get it right away it will have a little personal touch.
Just a word to the wise... don't put her name on the loan or the title if you guys aren't married. If you do, and the relationship goes downhill, you're gonna wind up donating a lot more of your hard earned money to the legal system and the home re-fi guys.
man seriously I did basicly what you did made the house a priority... and guess what in the past year I made enough equity on my house to buy 3 of my current C5 Z06s cash... no joking do it right and itll buy you any car you want... currently next years equity might be a C6Z06.....
Oh don't worry, I am a real estate agent I know all about that stuff. As far as that goes she will be my "rent paying roommate". More income = more house the bank will let me buy too. Thanks but I am not about to make that mistake.

Sounds like you made a very wise decision based on your current situation. Cars will come and go, but an investment in your future is worth so much more. Good luck with the house purchase and hopefully it won't be long before you can get back into a Vette.
If any of you guys know anybody looking for suv's I am basically giving mine away so I can get this house quicker. DVD loaded '96 Yukon and '00 Z71 Tahoe. Any help would be awesome.
