Mine was born 1 week before yours, 07/29/1999 #1438, only 588 before yours.
"Production started 06/29/1999 for the 2000 model year. And the plant was shutdown July 3-19th (I think they do that every year) so mine was actually built on the 14 day of production for the 2000 model year."
It could be the very first build triple black convertible for 2000!
To further illustrate what I'm saying, look at post numbers 13 and 21 by Dr. Dan above. If you look at the web site you're using as reference, you should see that his car's VIN (#26241) most likely started through the Trim Department on Friday, Mar 21, 2003. However, from the GM Vehicle Inquiry System (VIS), it was determined that the actual build date for his car was Monday Mar 24, 2003. (Note: The web site also erroneously lists that Monday as Mar 22, when the actual date was Mar 24.)
Hope this helps.
Great info...thanks
The 24th is the build date that SpongeVette reported. Right on Sponge.
Found out that my car was the 117th to roll off the line on the 2nd of January, 01.
Again guys, I think you may be misinterpreting the information at this web site. The information that you're looking at really only gives you an indication of the VINs that started through the Trim Department that day, NOT the ones that actually came off the assembly line or had that day as their build day. See my reply at post #113 on page 6 above.
You can find your actual build date by having your dealer inquire the GM Vehicle Identification System (VIS) for it's History and Build Info. Also several people on this Forum have access to GM's VIS. If you can't get your dealer to do this for you, post a request on C5 General along with your VIN and hopefully one of them will come along and inquire this data for you.
