I know some of the factory solar tinted windshields in some Fords and maybe in the ZR1 limit the effectiveness of radar detectors. Does the Z06 HUD windshield do this?

My V1 is mounted at the upper left corner. It seems to work "VERY WELL".
Of course, I actually never "need" its very early warning.
The windshields that block a radar detector are the ones that are defrosted electrically. Those were available on some Tarus (Tarui?)models and on the ZR1. BTW the ZR1 had a small "window" that didn't have the electrical defrosting feature, that you could put your radar detector behind and it would work just fine in that one spot.
The HUD uses the concept of total internal reflection, that is, light that is projected at a shallow angle on clear glass will reflect most of that light back to the driver. The glass isn't different, it is just how the light is projected on it that makes the HUD work the way it does. Your detector will work just fine.
