Default Pull key, wait 10 seconds

What does this message mean???? Just tried to start my car and nothing happened. Tried to jump it and still nothing. Lights under the hood are on and all other lights operational. While trying to jump it, the above message came on "pull key wait 10 seconds". What can I do? My car is at a bar in not the best area of town. I dont really want to leave it there over night. Need help.

I assume you pulled the key and waited the 10 sec? If you did then turn the headlights on to see if they are bright. If they are dim then the battery is low. Even if it was low the under hood light may still be bright.

Are the headlights bright when you turn them on? Your car might think it's being stolen. I dont know anything about the vette's anti-theft system though.

On the passenger side floorboard pull the cover off for the fuse access and pull #25 fuse and let it set for 10 min. then plug it back in and then hopefully it will start.

Yes the fuse, forgot about that, make the computer forget. Then it might start. But be sure to check the headlights like was said earlier.

What fuse is this? I might have to go try it. I will have to get a ride back to my car. What makes you think this could be it? By the way I really appreciate your help!!!

When you pull #25 fuse it should reset the security as I said in my reply above.

Fuse #25 is for the body control module. If you have the owners manual look under fuses. It will show you where #25 is.

I had this happen, but engine would turn over, but not start until I did "AS DIRECTED". Maybe unhook the battery cable (SAFTEY FIRST) to reset the computer? GOOD LUCK & BE SAFE!!!

I know when installing the CLB you will get the pull key message and it says to pull that fuse to get rid of the message . Maybe it will clear it off yours also. Good luck.
