I agree with all the above, except for the buy a house speil. If he's just getting in the military, he won't be in one place more than a year or two at a time, and Uncle Sugar will have a place for him to live. It may only be a tent, but that's life in the military.

Hope I'm not too late chiming in with my 2 cents...

If this were true, you'd have saved enough $$ to not need a co-signer. I think you meant that you've WANTED a Vette for a long time...

Dude, those brown "flames" will get really old to you really soon. I'll bet that's why the previous owner got rid of it in the first place!

Listen to the advice here. Take a deep breath, step away for a moment and come to your senses. There's a reason the bank insists on a co-signer...they don't think YOU can afford it.

Take the time you are in the military and PLAN for the car you are going to buy once you are out and can afford it. How silly is it to have a Corvette and not be able to buy tires or even gas for it? Let alone the occasional oil change and other upkeep required not to mention the insurance?

Trust us. Many of us have waited many years to have our first Vette. The wait is worth it.

Don't say we didn't warn you...

I will add my voice to the chorus pointing out that you have gotten excellent advice here. You do not seem to be either smart enough or mature enough to take it.

Never provide surety for another. Wow, imagine that, wisdom coming from God! What a shocker. Notonly does God provide a plan of salvation for our sorry azzez, but wisdom to get through the internet. Please stop with the BS already.

11% sounds like the punishment....I mean APR that silverado will get. Advice, build a little credit with a credit union and you will be getting 5-6% loans.

The bottom line is, deep in side your head, your convicing your self that you need this car! And that you can afford it, and you think that the lending institutions are 'wrong' about you. There just simply wrong! Everyone that doesnt want to co-sign for you just dont understand you either... right? I bet you have asked everyone on gods earth... did you ask your neighbor that you dont know that well?
You have to do some soul searching deep inside yourself. If you get this car, your going to be in a world of financial hurt. Chances are, you wont get a good APR. You'll probably be spending more than 500-600 a month just for payments? Oh, and the insurance for you? You dont need to tell us how old you are, we can gather this. Your looking at perhaps $1,000 a month total just to own the car. And when you fail to make the payments, your going to put someone else in hurt too.
Dude, you really need to do some soul searching. You need to convince yourself, undo what youve already did to your brain, and make yourself realize that you really can afford this car.
Wanting something that bad makes it real hard to think straight.

Default Shock 'n Awe

This is terriffic! It's funny and sad, it's amazing, yet predictable. The reason this whole episode is facinating to me is this young fella is simply a product of our society. We (you and I) created him and his system of "values" in the "NOW" generation. His "what me worry" government can't seem to write enough hot checks yet continues to pass huge tax breaks (4 more recently) to the super-rich. Adults all around him have no concern or vision for Social Security, medical care, jobs disappearing overseas, or.... anything that doesn't directly affect them - in the next few days. Gone are days when as a society we valued savings, or planning for the future. It's all about greed for today. Companies don't care about employees and people don't care about themselves much less others. Even God has become some sort of personal Genie who is a servant to all our little personal whims and wishes he is even responsible for rasing our kids and taking the blame for our failures.

Each of us coveted a certain type car that we couldn't afford when growing up. That is the reason the market is so hot today for '57 Chevy's, '59 Vette's, '55 T-birds... hey I better stop this I'm beginnig to salivate. Anyway these are the cars we all wanted, but couldn't afford when growing up. We lived in a generation when your identity, and your sexuality was defined by what car you drove, an era when cars were not anything even close to transportation - most kids today seem to want BMW's! At least this fella has good taste and understands the testosterone syndrome thingy. The funny part is our mutual love of cars starts early and will stay with this poor afflected fella all the way to his 90's. We all know what he's going through... It's a guy thing. Doesn't make it any less stupid but take comfort - we all can certainly relate! Given enough money, there isn't a guy in this forum that wouldn't buy a model for every corvette year out there! I also do appreciate his tenacity. Only the very young still believes in Santa Clause and clings to the hope some stranger will come along and solve their financial woes. However, the thing I'm most grateful about is.... he's not my kid!

There is a very good reason why the military wants kids in their late teens and wouldn't touch an old fart like me... but that's another story.

lol

First of all, this is probably a fraud or someone just trying to get a rise out of us. If it is neither, I don't want anybody fighting for this country with this COMPLETE lack of respect and discernment. To go onto a public forum and to seek surety from people who no nothing about him; yes he is afflicted alright with asininity, not to mention a complete lack of any wisdom or forethought.

If I was to tell you the reason I am wanting/getting a C5 corvette, I could seriously write a book...
I think you need to write that book so we all can read it.

I'm sure one of the reasons is "The flames are blue/purple" ... by all means, I'm sure this will hold the re-sale value up there.

If you don't get this car dude, it will be the best thing that has ever happened to you.

Is there any way any of you could help me out?
Whomever stated there were no stupid questions around here must've not seen one of these.

This is one of THE stupidest questions I've ever seen on this Forum.
