Good luck with that one..... I remember the Vette I really wanted bad but had to wait... it was a C3 (when they were new)! Finally bought a 6 year old C5.
Take a little advice from someone who has been in (The Royal) Air Force for 32 years.
Don't stretch yourself fo a car even if its a Vette. You'll be moving around a lot as you go through training and its not always possible to take your car with you. I've done 5 overseas tours and moving the cars is expensive and a challenge.
Wait until you get to your first duty station and see if you still feel as strongly about the Vette then. JMHO.
Wow. I can't beleive what I am reading. You must have a huge sack to carry around those huge ***** to ask that question.
I know everyone here is really helpful, as far as helping out maybe with money for people if they are in a jam, or parts, or even lending out rooms in their home for people that need them.
But asking someone to sign their name on a piece of paper for someone they dont know, I just cant beleive it.. People work hard for their credit score and rating. I bet there are atleast 50% of people here that wouldnt even co-sign for their own family let alone a stranger.
Don’t buy what you can’t afford, if you can’t pay cash for a used Vette then you can’t afford it. A Vette is just a toy and not something you need. I wanted one since in was a kid and it took me over 30 years to finally get one, and it think you will find that is the case with a lot of people here.

My project manager is in the Air Force reserves. He told me about a Viper that sat in the parking lot. At first it had a really nice cover on it. After about 3 months, the cover was ragged. After 6 months, the paint on the car looked very bad. Especially where the cover had been rubbing from the wind.
Take my advice (one who waited 20 years to get his first Vette), wait until you have a stable life, before you buy one. You will appreciate it more.
If that's going to be your first Corvette... I bet you get tired of it quickly (looks to be a impulse buy). Then it will be like-hell to sell it again and not take a huge loss.
Listen to the wise-men kiddo. If the bank wants a co-signer that means they dont think you can afford it on your own. Which means either youve got no credit, bad credit, or dont make enough. Hell. IT's probably just that you dont make enough or so. I picked up a 99 coupe on a 525 credit score. I make decent enough money but I had a few bumps when I was 18-19 and im still paying for them. I've always been straight with my credit union (Texan's Credit Union) And they've always leant me money for whatever car I wanted because I always paid them on time no matter what else. (I'm on my 4'th loan through them) On a 17k note be willing to pay close to $500 a month because most places will only carry a max of 48 months on a used car. Then figure another 300/mo for insurence if you're under 25 for full coverage which is required if financing.
My advice. Dont buy something you cant afford. Buy something far cheaper and take out a 5-7k loan and pay it off in 18 months or so which will be a tad bit over $400/mo, This will prove to a lending institution that you can afford such a payment. It will build your credit. And slide you into a vette sooner then you know.
Like i said my credit score is pretty bad because i got in a little over my head and couldnt pay my way out for a while. I'm improving it every month i make my payment on time. A good rule of thumb is dont try to get a car or house until you've ammassed at least 2 years of on-time payments to something, weather it be a credit card, phone bill, small car payment, rent, anything that reports to one of the big-3 credit agencies. Then lending institutions will be falling all over themselves to loan you cash.
About the car specifically. Just like a woman. Dont fall for a pretty face. It's not all looks. IT's what's inside that counts. I'd rather buy a 100% stock car and mod it as i like it so i know eexactly whats gone into it and that it's been done correctly.
Hope this info helps. Not trying to shoot your dreams down man. Just trying to help you be smart about what you're doing so you dont mess your credit and somebody else's up in the process..
Well I think I got a guy to co-sign for me, its one of my dads co-workers....
Hes talking to the dealer right now and they are going to call me back...
I know it was a stupid question, but it never hurts to try.
Call you dad's friend up and tell him you've rethought the whole thing after reading the advice here on this forum. We've seen more than a few members get themselves in financial trouble over a car. The bank wants a cosigner because you are a bad risk.
Don't risk costing your dad a friend.
Going into the service is probably a great choice for you. I will help with your maturity. There will be plenty of Corvettes around when you are in a position to take personal financial responsibility.
