This might be a dumb question, but if the car is on the lift, do the wheels need to come off to install the new pads? I'm annoyed by the brake dust (despite the Wheel Wax which helps) and the squeal.
are you saying ceramics provide less brake performance?
according to those that have tried ceramics on road courses, repeated hard braking will result in diminished braking capability......ceramics for street use is fine
Turning them takes away material, making them thinner and easier to warp(less heat dissipation(sp?)) therefore....fresh rotors will go on. If my originals are in good condition when I replace them, I'll sell them on here.
Lots of guys switch to ceramic brake pads. They are not quite as good as the stock pads, but are a LOT less dusty.
As far as rotors go, Baer Eradispeeds seem very popular, but are not cheap. If you plan to track your car much, Hawke pads are good, avoid drilled rotors - they crack
when u say "not quite as good as the stock pads" do you mean that the stock pads brake better than the ceramic brake pads???
How does the GM ceramic pads work with the Baer slotted/drilled Eradispeed rotors. I'm using Hawk Streets right now but they are too noisey and cause too much dust.
