My battery died over this past weekend cause my dumb self left the parking lights on without even noticing. Any way when i charged the battery it was fine. But then I noticed that my key fob doesnt work and all of a sudden the OBD light comes on. Do I need to get the computer reflashed and the key fob reprogramed? Any help would be much appreciated. Thank you.
Random unrelated electrical gremlins seem to occur when the battery is going bad.
It may be that the battery was weak in the first place and the discharge has finished it off. From all the horror stories, if it's an original AC Delco, I'd change it pre-emptively. Just not worth risking a leak. JMHO
When ever you disconnect your battery, or it goes dead, the car needs to "relearn" the FOB(s). I can't remember where it is, but look in your owners manual for instructions - the procedure takes 2 sec.
As for the light, look up your DIC codes to see what is wrong. Click the link below.
